美國作家協議主席Scott Turow則是在上周四（3/7）公開反對ICANN把.book、.author或.read這類通用型的頂級網域名稱賣給任何的私人企業

包括美國作家協會、美國出版商協會與邦諾書店皆出面反對.book頂級網域名稱由特定業者取得，特別是Amazon。
