Tibero Q&A
Here is the Q&A from our Webinar 2 - Tibero Active Cluster and Tibero Operation
1. Question:
Any feature(s) or function in Tibero DBA already aligned to Agile methodology or it is already supported the align organization?
Answer:
In terms of automation, DBA tasks like backup, monitoring and administrative are scriptable. With the use of rmanager- a Tibero utility, DBA can clone the database by script, then do provision for the developers.
After developing, testing is needed, Tibero Manager- a bundled Tibero administration and management GUI tool has a testing function allows developer or DBA to load SQL and obtain the reports for before and after comparison.

2. Question:
What is the load balancing mechanism of TAC?
Answer:
Tibero JDBC driver provides a load balancing function. After enabling, the JDBC driver will distribute the connection using a round-robin mechanism to the connected nodes.
3. Question:
What if the there is an internode network failure in the private network, i.e. switch failure, or remove the cable. How does TAC determine the downed node?
Answer:
In TAC cluster, the first node to be started will obtain a master node status. In the private network failure scenario, both nodes cannot receive the heartbeat from other. To maintain the data consistency, the node with the master status will continue to provide services, while the other nodes will turn down.
