Professor David Tan is a leading expert in entertainment and fashion law at NUS Law. He holds law degrees from Harvard and the University of Melbourne, and has published over 100 articles on copyright, trademarks, and personality rights. His writings have also been cited by courts in Singapore and the United States. In addition, he is an accomplished fine art and fashion photographer, with works featured in Vanity Fair, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Time, and The New Yorker.

charc+r Fest 2026: IP in Play
charc+r returns this July with a new theme celebrating original indie character IPs and the creators behind them.

“IP in Play” spotlights characters that move, evolve, and take on new forms — shifting from sketches to sculpts, prints to merch, concepts to interactive experiences.

charc+r brings creators and fans together through a curated artist market and programmes, offering a one‑of‑a‑kind space to discover and celebrate original character IPs.

Applications are now open — submit your IP to be considered for this year’s charc+r: IP in Play.
Early bird till 5 June
Standard till 19 June (or while slots last)

We’re excited to share a new collaboration between our artist Pines n Printss and Malaysian lifestyle brand Galado.
Together, we’ve introduced a series of framed artworks featuring some of Pines n Printss’ well‑loved illustrations — bringing her gentle, character‑driven world into a format that’s easy to enjoy in everyday spaces.

Mr Onigiri teamed up with our artist, Pines n Prints, for a playful, festive collab that brings character design into everyday bites.
Fans also had the chance to meet the artist behind Pines n Prints at our in-store meet & greet, turning the drop into both a community moment and a celebration of local creativity.
The exclusive collab merch collection is now available island-wide at all Mr Onigiri outlets across Singapore.
