CL28 and CL36 can look very different on a spec sheet, but what do those numbers actually mean?

At the same 6000 MT/s memory speed, CL28 is roughly 9.3 ns of CAS latency, while CL36 is about 12 ns. Lower CL reduces latency, but memory performance is not determined by CL alone.
