Half-way through 2025, wanted to share this absolutely gorgeous copy of Super Mario 2 for the Nintendo GameBoy. Chinese region. Released in Hong Kong by Mani Hong Kong Limited.

This is one of 64 officially licensed Nintendo GameBoy games for the Chinese/Hong Kong region/market. Some of you may not know, Nintendo decided to enter the Chinese market via Hong Kong by releasing some japanese exclusive titles and a few other 1st party games. This one in particular was one of them. Interestingly, Nintendo didn't release/import any Pokemon games into the Chinese market. And perhaps most peculiar is that although that CHN region GameBoy games were marketed for China and Hong Kong (where our native language is Chinese) most of these games either played in English or Japanese.

Given how obscure GameBoy Chinese games are, to find one of these with a box this mint, is a true achievement in itself. An absolutely stunning find/piece in a gorgeous condition. 😍

Once a year post 😬 one of the Pokémon's holy grails. The holy Super Pak. If you ever want to grab this baby, prepare to empty your wallet 😂.

Comps are hard to find for this one, they start about $2000 usd for used and and quite beat up. abut they go upwards from 3-4k in a minty condition.

The box's design is unique that there is a flap open for viewing the contents, the carrying case is quite generic, wish it had a ruby design instead of just being red with Groudon on it. But compared to the NTSC and JP variants, this UK/Europe regional variant is by far the best release for the Groudon and Kyogre special editions.
