ICT 2016 ICT 2016 - "Expansion to small". Thessaloniki is hosting the International Conference on Telecommunications (ICT) in early summer 2016.

Always bustling with life, Thessaloniki, a modern metropolis bearing the marks of its stormy history and its cosmopolitan character, known for its hospitality and cuisine, is hosting the International Conference on Telecommunications (ICT) in early summer 2016. The theme “Expansion to Small” aims to draw research community’s attention to the enormous anticipated expansion of communication systems

through small architectures and devices. Small cells, short wavelengths, small sensors, small scale communications going down to molecular level are expected to boost next generation communications leading to Big Data networking, massive Internet of Things and green, energy efficient applications. World-class researchers are expected to join ICT 2016 and share their ideas and progress on solving the above and other future challenges of Telecommunications in a rich conference program including Plenary Talks, Tutorials, Workshops as well as Regular and Special Sessions.

Το Ελληνικό Ανοικτό Πανεπιστήμιο, το Ερευνητικό Εργαστήριο Συστημάτων Υπολογιστών, Ασφάλειας και Δικτύων (ΣΥΑΔ) του Αλεξάνδρειου ΤΕΙ Θεσσαλονίκης και το Υπουργείο Ψηφιακής Πολιτικής, Τηλεπικοινωνιών και Ενημέρωσης συνδιοργανώνουν την διεθνούς εμβέλειας Ημερίδα IEEE Greece 5G Summit την Τρίτη 11 Ιουλίου 2017 (8:45-19:00) στη Θεσσαλονίκη (Συνεδριακό Κέντρο Τράπεζας Πειραιώς, Κατούνη 12-14, Λαδάδικα). Το IEEE Greece 5G Summit υποστηρίζεται από τα IEEE Communications Society και IEEE 5G Initiative.

Η Ημερίδα IEEE 5G Summit πραγματοποιείται για πρώτη φορά στην Ελλάδα και αναμένεται να προσελκύσει διεθνές ενδιαφέρον και προβολή καθώς περιλαμβάνει ως ομιλητές περισσότερα από 35 διακεκριμένα στελέχη εταιριών τηλεπικοινωνιών, ερευνητές και ακαδημαϊκούς από το εξωτερικό και την Ελλάδα.

Young Engineer & Scientist Initiative (i-YES) Panel Session @ IEEE Globecom 2016 (Washington, DC)

The IEEE Communication Society Education and Training Board (ESB) will organize the first Education & Training Track on Sunday, December 4, 16:00-17:30 that will feature a Panel Session on "Exploring Excited Career Paths for Young Engineers & Scientists" with speakers from Industry & Academia as well as young engineers and scientists. The main purpose of the Panel is to keep the participants (Postgraduate/PhD students and IEEE Young Professionals) updated about the latest technology advances by interacting with professionals and involve them in various IEEE volunteer, educational and standardization activities.

Registration information: There is no registration fee for the IEEE GLOBECOM attendees.
