D-cube brought XR and AI closer to the aluminium industry at ALUMINIUM 2026!

During the exhibition, we presented the solution we are developing as part of MOTIVATE XR, introducing visitors to the project’s vision for more accessible, immersive industrial training and operational assistance.

Funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe programme, MOTIVATE XR brings together Extended Reality (XR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help industries create and use interactive training and assistance experiences, without requiring advanced programming skills.

Aluminium manufacturing is one of the project’s five industrial pilot sectors. Presenting our work at ALUMINIUM 2026 was a valuable opportunity to discuss industry needs and explore how these technologies can support workforce skills, operational efficiency and safety.

What happens when two experienced inspectors can look at the same aluminium profile and reach different conclusions? Not because one is wrong, but because many surface defects require subjective judgment.
