Connect, Communicate and Collaborate!HETI's mission is to facilitate the worldwide collaboration between organizations and individuals whose objectives are philanthropic, scientific and educational in the field of Equine-Assisted Services.
Yesterday, Alexandra Stergiou, HETI's Vice President had a wonderful meet-and-chat conversation with Priscilla Lightsey, a long-standing HETI member since the FRDI days, researcher, and physical therapist.
Priscilla has been actively involved in developing equine-assisted programs in Beijing and Central Texas and currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Texas A&M University.
During their discussion, they shared insights from research in EAS focusing on Pricilla's research in participants with Parkinson’s disease and individuals with hemiplegic cerebral palsy, highlighting the positive outcomes and functional improvements achieved through therapeutic interventions.
It was an inspiring exchange of knowledge, experience, and vision for the future of equine-assisted services and rehabilitation.
Grateful for the opportunity to connect, collaborate, and continue advancing evidence-based practice together.
