SOFTWARE/DATA ENGINEER- Job Brief

We are presently looking for a talented Software/Data Engineer to join our team in Luxembourg.
As Software/Data Engineer will participate in European research projects, collaborate closely with partners and will be responsible for designing developing, implementing and supporting big data applications.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in European research projects (FP Horizon 2020) and collaborate closely with university partners and engineers in a multidisciplinary work environment
• Participate in detailed technical design, development, implementation and support of big data streaming applications
• Keep abreast of the latest developments in the field by continuous learning and proactively propose new methods relevant to the problems at hand
• Propose innovative solutions to problems, perform experiments to show their feasibility and refine them into a real-world context
• Research, design and prototype robust and scalable models based on machine learning, data mining, and statistical modelling to answer key business problems.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• PhD in computer science, computer engineering or MS with 2 years of experience in related field
• Strong skills in software development using java or python
• Good knowledge various open source machine learning and analytics packages
• Good knowledge of fundamentals of machine learning, data mining and statistical predictive modelling
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to work independently
• Ready to travel

DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• Demonstrated history in delivering analytics models and solutions
• Experience using open source big data and streaming technologies such as Kafka, Flink, etc.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, …

WORKPLACE

Luxembourg
• Candidates must be domiciled either in Luxembourg or in Germany, France, Belgium (close to the Luxembourgish border)
• Foreign candidates will have to move in one of the above areas
