Happy International Workers Day!

On the Acropolis of Athens there appears to have been a sanctuary or small shrine dedicated to Athena Ergane (“Athena the Worker/Craftswoman”), although not a major temple like the Parthenon.
Athena Ergane was the aspect of the goddess associated with:
- craftsmanship
- weaving
- pottery
- metalworking
- architecture and skilled labor.

Ancient evidence suggests that her cult was connected with the artisans and workshops around the Acropolis, especially during the construction of the Parthenon and other sacred buildings.
Some scholars believe the worship of Athena Ergane was centered near the Erechtheion and older sacred areas of the Acropolis, probably through a small sanctuary, altar, or cult space rather than a monumental standalone temple.

A major digital transformation project for Greece’s archaeological sites, opening new ways to experience culture.

The project, spearheaded by the consortium OTE—SingularLogic—Radiant, represents one of the most ambitious efforts to date in the country’s intersection of culture and technology.

Another mini-interview at the Philoxenia–Hotelia Expo, this time with Eirini Mitsa, Full-Stack Developer at MOPTIL. We talked about the web-based AR experience developed for Hellenic Heritage.

Even though it was a challenge because it was a completely new project, the collaboration with 3D artists, AR specialists, and archaeologists brought the project to life, making the experience accessible to everyone with a single tap.
