Palowise began its journey in 2008 with the creation of Palo.gr, a news aggregation platform that uses advanced algorit

hms to gather news from Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Cyprus, and Turkey. A SaaS-based platform was then developed that provides detailed, customized analytics and insights from social media and web mentions. To increase scalability and expand our data sets, we rebranded as Palowise in 2023. With broader and deeper data sets realized through our global growth, Palowise’s unique advantage is our deep understanding of local cultures and languages on a granular level.

What a week for Eurovision analytics!
At Palowise, we analysed the digital footprint of Eurovision Greece 2026 vs 2025, comparing buzz, engagement, EMV and platform dynamics across web & social media. The results reveal a fascinating shift in how audiences interact with the contest.
Key Findings
Conversation volume skyrocketed in 2026: Mentions increased by +69% (5,794 vs 3,425), driven largely by intensified news coverage and discussions around Akylas’ 10th place finish.
But engagement quality was higher in 2025: Despite fewer mentions, 2025 generated slightly more total engagement (3.2M vs 3.1M). More people talked in 2026 but fewer engaged per mention.

2025 delivered the strongest single‑day spike: Engagement peaked at 1.4M in one day (16/05/2025), fuelled by Klavdia’s emotional performance of Asteromata. In contrast, 2026 peaked at 725.9K, showing a more diffused engagement pattern.

YouTube was the star platform both in 2025 & 2026: The top YouTube post reached 283.7K engagements in 2025 vs 223.3K in 2026.

What drove the conversation?
2026: Mixed reactions to Akylas’ performance, strong media push, and the surprise win of Bulgaria’s Dara with Bangaranga.
2025: Emotional resonance of Klavdia’s Asteromata, strong cultural storytelling, and highly organic support across X and Facebook.

The takeaway
2026 “won” in volume and EMV but 2025 “won” in depth and intensity of engagement.
A powerful reminder that more buzz doesn’t always mean stronger connection.

Massive Growth: We tracked a 1005% increase in mentions, showing that the Greek community is more engaged than ever.
Incredible Reach: The conversation generated 3.7M social impressions, with media reach peaking at 9.4M.
Leading Platforms: Facebook and X remain the primary hubs for the community, driving the majority of the discussion.

Are you buying video analysis or just caption reading?

With the explosion of short-form video, «video coverage» has become a buzzword in social intelligence. However, not all analysis is created equal. Most platforms sit at the surface level, analyzing the text around the video rather than the content within it.

The meaningful upgrade in the industry right now is Speech-to-Text transcription. It allows brands to capture mentions within the audio that Layer 1 metadata misses entirely.

While more advanced computer vision and multimodal sentiment analysis are evolving, they are often more «roadmap» than «reality» for live production.

Transparency matters. Before signing your next contract, ensure you know the difference between what is available today and what is promised for the future.
