Let’s play a game.
Pretend you and I are going to lift the hood of your car to check in on things. What are we going to see?
What needs attention?
Does anything look rusty?
Does any fluid need topping up?
See, even the nicest, shiniest, squeaky clean car won’t run if the under-the-hood stuff is not in order.
It’s the invisible stuff that makes it WORK.
Ok, ok, you got me. This is not really about cars. But keep that picture of the lifted hood in mind, and let’s move on to your business.
What would we find if we looked under its (metaphorical) hood?
What does your business machine need to make it THE most efficient? (Hint: it ain’t got nothing to do with pretty Insta photos.)
Sometimes, we entrepreneurs tend to focus on the shiny external things, and neglect the behind-the-scenes stuff that actually makes the entire thing run.
Trust me, I know a lot about focusing on the wrong things. When I was creating my wife's academy for her courses, I wanted to focus on perfection first. But I learned that perfection can be used to get your work done later, than sooner.
Lucky for me, I came across mentors who steered me in the right direction and gave me great advice.
One of these mentors is James Wedmore. (James didn’t just help me btw, he helped thousands of other entrepreneurs, many of them big shots in the digital world.)
He has one of the best business podcasts you’ll ever hear - The Mind Your Business Podcast. Each episode is a full-on masterclass, packed with insights and actionable takeaways.
So it got me thinking…if you’re making this mistake too…neglecting the under-the-hood stuff at considerable cost to your business success and longevity…
…let me point you in the direction of his Down to Business Series, 5 podcast episodes packed full with the things you need to fix to ensure true and lasting business success.

Now…a warning.
This is not the sexy business stuff. It’s not what you hear everyone talking about. In fact, hardly anyone talks about how essential these things are.
And yet…WITHOUT working these behind-the-scenes stuff out, the things that you really love doing in your business sit on a fragile foundation.
So do yourself a favor and go listen to the first episode in the series, #436 Down to Business - Personal Brand VS CEO, all about making a distinction between you – the personal brand, and you – the CEO. I can’t tell you how important differentiating between the two is – for you and your business.
And trust me, James doesn’t skimp on golden nuggets. You’ll want to quickly get in on the other four episodes too.
Enjoy!
See you inside,
Iason Yannis Schizas
PS: One more thing…don’t just stop at listening. The whole series comes with a workbook to help you integrate the learnings and get down to business. Do the work. Your business will thank you for it.
