After reading on 2.10.26., the Open Heavens devotional, “Remain Grateful,” my wife and I decided to do something simple: instead of thinking about what we still want, we sat down and wrote out what we already have.
And the more we wrote, the more we realized just how blessed we truly are. ❤️
We are grateful for salvation.
For each other.
For health and the gift of life.
For our children and the privilege of parenthood.
For sound minds—the grace to think, reason, learn and process.
For hands that can work and legs that can carry us.
For bodies that function in ways we often take for granted—even the simple ability to eat, sleep, breathe, use the bathroom and go about our daily lives independently.
We are grateful for joy, hope and peace.
For the opportunity to receive education and continue growing.
For work we can do to meet our responsibilities.
For food in our home and groceries on the table.
For a home of our own and the grace to meet the mortgage month after month.
For the ability to save, invest and build toward the future.
For ideas, creativity and the grace to turn possibilities into realities.
And we are grateful for family, friends and the people God has placed around us.
Sometimes, the things we pray for can become so loud that we forget the prayers God has already answered.
Psalm 103:2 says,
“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.”
Today, we choose not to forget.
We may not have everything we desire yet, and everything may not be perfect, but we have so much to thank God for.
Perhaps gratitude is not denying what is still missing; it is simply refusing to allow what is missing to make us blind to what is already present.
Lord, for the big things, the little things, the obvious blessings and the everyday miracles we often overlook—THANK YOU. 🙏🏽❤️
What are you grateful for today?
After also listening to what Pastor Nat said in Hallelujah Challenge Day 3, we are challenge to take gratitude to God on a deeper level 🙏
God is calling his people to the act of gratitude
