The number of hours spent gaming isn’t always the biggest risk. ⏱️🎮
Who your child is talking to—and the kind of relationship being built—may matter much more.

Manipulation, grooming and extremist recruitment often begin with attention, trust and a sense of belonging, not with obvious threats. ⚠️

Start conversations about the people, interactions and experiences behind the game.

Instead of asking only, “How long did you play?”, try asking:
“Who did you talk to?”
“How did the conversation make you feel?”
“Did anyone ask you to keep something secret?” 💬👀

Helping children understand who they meet, trust and interact with online is one of the most important conversations parents can have. 🤝🛡️

A student’s digital world can shape how they think, communicate and feel — even when they never talk about it in class.

A sudden change in mood, behaviour or participation is worth noticing. The first warning sign may not be a drop in grades, but a student becoming quieter, more distant or isolated.

By paying attention and responding with curiosity rather than assumptions, teachers can become the trusted adults students need. 🤝

You don’t have to be a gamer to protect a student. Sometimes, simply noticing is the first step towards making a difference.
