World Earth Day is a reminder that true prosperity is not measured only in performance and profit, but also in sustainability.

Oceans support life itself and power entire economies.
However, everything in nature depends on human responsibility, respect, and protection. This year’s message, "Our Power, Our Planet", highlights that environmental progress is driven by the daily actions of individuals, communities, and businesses.

Maritime digital transformation and efficiency, along with smarter technologies and connectivity in onboard operations, are key to creating sustainability for businesses and prosperity for the oceans.

Together, through our actions and innovations, we can shape a more sustainable future for our planet and all life on it.

Today, celebrates its .
It is a day that reminds us freedom was never a gift; it was secured through struggle, unity, and a maritime vision that spans millennia. But beyond the history books, there is a deeper truth connecting 1821 to the reality we face today: The sea is not a barrier. It is a bridge.

At this moment, that bridge is under immense pressure. Global attention is once again fixed on the Strait of Hormuz. As one of the world's most critical maritime chokepoints, its stability dictates the pulse of global energy and trade.

When disruption occurs, whether through physical threat or cyber interference, the impact is immediate. It ripples through economies, supply chains, and the everyday lives of people thousands of miles away.
This is the reality of our industry.

Shipping is not just logistics. It is a global stability infrastructure. It connects continents and people, often silently, until the flow is interrupted.
On March 25th, we remember a revolution.

Today, we also recognize a different kind of responsibility:
- To keep the world connected in an increasingly fragmented landscape.
- To protect our assets against both kinetic and digital threats.
- To operate safely when the geopolitical stakes are at their highest.

For Greece, the sea is not abstract. It is identity. It is a legacy of resilience. As the world feels the weight of maritime uncertainty, we are reminded that shipping isn't just a business; it’s the world's most vital lifeline.

At MarPoint, every year we stand alongside the same community, people who need support, care, and long-term commitment.

Once again this year, our contribution reflects more than a symbolic act of support. It represents a steady, practical commitment to improving everyday conditions and supporting environments that must remain functional, safe, and human-centered.

Εταιρεία Προστασίας Σπαστικών/Πόρτα Ανοιχτή supports children and young people living with cerebral palsy, a neurological condition caused by early brain injury that affects movement, posture, and coordination. Beyond medical care, their work focuses on inclusion, dignity, and creating spaces where individuals can live, learn, and develop with equal opportunity. These principles strongly align with MarPoint’s values: responsibility, consistency, and technology used with purpose.

Over time, this continued presence has become more than a collaboration. It has become a tradition, one that reminds us that real impact is built through consistency and genuine commitment.

The last newbuilding project of 2025 is almost ready to sail as the new year begins.

As systems go live and final checks are completed, a vessel transitions from a project into an operational asset, ready to perform from day one.

For Laskaridis Maritime, this newbuilding was shaped early, before steel was cut, with a fully integrated digital foundation already in place. The deployment includes the EVO3 Router for multi-WAN control and resilience, the UNI Virtualization Solution for secure and centralized onboard IT, multi-LEO connectivity via Starlink and OneWeb, layered fallback connectivity through 5G and Certus, and UDM threat management with IPS for built-in cyber protection.

Newbuildings are designed for the future.
They are digital platforms, engineered for security, resilience, and long-term operational readiness.

The year reset. Signals realigned.

The sky fills with new stars, quiet, precise, watching over moving seas.

This time, let wishes do more than drift.
Let them transmit. Act. Change direction.
In a world stitched together by light and orbiting messages, may communication become understanding, and innovation become purpose.

May these new stars guide us, not just forward, but toward a more peaceful world.

This season reminds us that giving is not about what we exchange, but whom we stand beside. For another year, we’re standing with the Theotokos Foundation for the Protection of Children and Young People with Developmental Disorders. Their work in creating an inclusive world where everyone has equal opportunities is deeply inspiring to us.

Supporting a cause that champions the dignity of every child is a privilege. We are honored to contribute to a more inclusive future for all.

Unclear access rules, shared credentials, and unmanaged digital environments create frustration onboard. That frustration leads to workarounds, weakens discipline, and increases both operational and cyber risk.

This article explores why crew-centric digital experience now sits at the intersection of:
• Crew wellbeing and retention
• Cybersecurity and behavior
• Operational stability
• IT support efficiency

The shift underway is from basic connectivity to managed, human-centered digital environments—where identity-based access, clear policies, and consistent user experience support both crews and operators.

A timely read for anyone involved in fleet operations, maritime IT, or crew management.

Crew digital experience now affects safety, cyber risk, and operations. Why structured, crew-centric digital environments are becoming essential at sea.

𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐲. 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞.
Last Sunday, our Chief of Operations Christos Vythopoulos crossed the finish line 2nd overall at the 'Dromos ton 118', a 23km historical-memory run honoring the 118 Laconians executed at Monodendri in 1943.

This event is more than a race.
It’s a reminder that resilience is built when we carry forward the values of those who stood for freedom, dignity, and peace — even in the darkest moments of history.

Christos's effort reflects exactly that discipline, endurance, and belief in a cause greater than ourselves.

In our work and in our lives, these are the values that push us to keep moving forward, especially when the path is long, steep, and uncertain.

To everyone who participated, and to everyone who keeps history alive through action, thank you for reminding us that resilience is not just a word, it’s a responsibility.

Every vessel has a moment when the IT backbone is tested.
A storm hits, bandwidth drops, a critical system freezes, and suddenly the question becomes simple:

Is your vessel’s infrastructure strong enough to keep the operation moving?

Across the fleets we work with, one truth keeps coming back: performance at sea isn’t improved by one big upgrade. It’s built through a series of smart, consistent steps—tightening your Disaster Recovery, modernizing the network, balancing workloads, hardening cybersecurity, training your crew, and virtualizing what used to run on scattered PCs.

When these pieces work together, something powerful happens.
The vessel runs smoother.
Troubleshooting gets faster.
Cyber risk drops.
And your team—onboard and onshore—finally gets the performance they’ve been asking for.

That’s what “powering up” a vessel’s IT really means.
Not just faster internet. Not just new hardware.
But a fleet that’s more productive, more resilient, and ready for whatever tomorrow brings.

IHere are 10 practical steps every maritime IT and Ops team should focus on to boost performance across the fleet: https://bit.ly/484geSa
