As we wrap up the final day of the AGRA joint review, I’m filled with gratitude and optimism. These sessions have been truly eye-opening. Learning from partners across the Agra network about financial mentorship, capacity building and inclusive growth has been incredibly valuable. A special highlight for me has been the exchange with my good friend Ali from KITA. Their work in training youth to operate and manage mechanisation equipment resonates deeply with what we’re building at FarmWallet. This review has shown me that a strategic partnership between FarmWallet and KITA could be a game changer. Combining digital access to mechanisation services with well-trained youth operators could unlock productivity and create decent, fulfilling jobs across the value chain. Thank you to AGRA and all the partners for fostering this kind of collaborative space. Here’s to new synergies, stronger partnerships, and building a better future together.

Dear Young People, Agriculture is the Future And the Future Needs You! 🇬🇭

When many people hear the word agriculture, they think only of farming with a hoe under the scorching sun. But agriculture today is much more than that. It is a thriving industry powered by innovation, technology, finance, logistics, agribusiness, and entrepreneurship.

Every meal we eat begins with a farmer. Yet Ghana continues to spend millions importing food that we have the land, climate, and talent to produce ourselves. Imagine the impact if more young people chose to build businesses around agriculture instead of waiting for limited office jobs.

Whether you are a software developer, engineer, marketer, accountant, banker, logistics expert, or entrepreneur, there is a place for you in agriculture. The sector needs young minds to develop smart technologies, improve productivity, create value-added products, connect farmers to markets, and build sustainable businesses that feed our nation.

At FarmWallet, we believe that empowering farmers is not just about increasing harvests it’s about creating jobs, reducing poverty, strengthening food security, and building a stronger Ghana. Through digital financial services, farmer profiling, market linkages, training, and access to finance, we are helping transform agriculture into an attractive and profitable sector for the next generation.

To every young Ghanaian, I encourage you to look beyond the stereotypes. Agriculture is not a last resort it is one of the greatest opportunities of our time. Let’s innovate, invest, and build businesses that create lasting impact.

Together, let’s grow what we eat, support our local farmers, and build a food-secure Ghana.

The future is green. The future is agriculture. The future starts with us. 🌾💚

🇬🇭 EAT GHANA RICE. SUPPORT GHANAIAN FARMERS. BUILD GHANA. 🌾🍚

Today, I had the pleasure of enjoying plain Ghana rice and rice balls prepared with locally grown rice from Akpafu Odome. It wasn't just a delicious meal it was a reminder of the incredible quality that our farmers produce right here in Ghana.

Every time we choose locally grown rice, we do more than satisfy our hunger. We support hardworking farmers, create jobs, strengthen rural communities, reduce our dependence on imports, and contribute to the growth of our national economy.

At FarmWallet, we are proud to champion the campaign because we believe that agriculture is not just about farming—it's about building livelihoods, creating opportunities, and securing Ghana's future.

Akpafu Odomi Community Engagement – Oti Region

Today, we engaged rice farmers in Akpafu Odomi to understand their production activities and challenges while exploring opportunities to improve productivity and livelihoods. Discussions focused on access to quality inputs, mechanization services, market linkages, and financial inclusion.

The farmers demonstrated strong commitment to rice production and expressed the need for improved access to extension services, mechanization, and structured markets. The engagement also highlighted opportunities for digital farmer profiling and strengthening farmer organizations to enhance resilience and incomes.

Such interactions are essential for promoting sustainable rice production and advancing food security and inclusive agricultural transformation in Ghana.

Good morning, cherished farmers of Akpafu Odomi.

Rice farming is more than planting and harvesting; it is the foundation of food security, prosperity, and the future of our communities. Every seed you sow represents hope, every field you cultivate represents hard work, and every harvest contributes to feeding families and strengthening Ghana.

Your dedication and resilience are the driving force behind agricultural development. As we gather together, let us remember that agriculture is not merely a way of life it is a business, an opportunity, and a legacy for generations to come. By embracing good farming practices, innovation, and working together, we can increase productivity, improve incomes, and build a brighter future for our children.

The future of Ghana’s rice industry is in your hands. Continue to work with determination and unity, knowing that your efforts are valuable and appreciated. May your lands be fertile, your harvests abundant, and your labor richly rewarded.

Together, we can transform our communities, strengthen our nation, and ensure that Ghana feeds itself and beyond.

Community Training Update – Paloman

As part of our efforts to strengthen smallholder farmer resilience and promote financial inclusion, we visited Paloman Community to conduct a comprehensive training program for farmers and farmer groups.

During the engagement, participants received training on financial literacy, focusing on savings, budgeting, and access to financial services. We also provided guidance on group governance structures and trained members on how to establish Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) or transition their existing manual VSLAs into a digital format. This digital transformation will enable them to build stronger financial records and connect with formal financial institutions for additional support and access to credit.

In addition, farmers were trained on Good Agronomic Practices (GAP) in the rice value chain to improve productivity and sustainability. Sessions also covered practical approaches to reducing post-harvest losses and explored value addition opportunities in rice processing and packaging to increase local consumption and create export opportunities.

As part of strengthening the agricultural ecosystem in the Hohoe Municipality, we also onboarded Green Shield, the largest input dealer in the municipality, as a strategic partner. Through this partnership, farmers will have access to quality agricultural inputs, input credit, and input financing services, ensuring timely availability of essential farm inputs to boost productivity and profitability.

These interventions are contributing to improved livelihoods, enhanced market access, and greater financial inclusion for farming communities in Paloman and across the Hohoe Municipality.
