Neptune Technology has successfully concluded the “Shaping the Future of Tech Journalism” workshop, a strategic capacity-building initiative designed to strengthen technology reporting, digital storytelling, and innovation-focused journalism in Ghana.

The workshop provided participants with practical insights into covering emerging technologies and the evolving digital economy, including, technology policy, fintech, cybersecurity, digital transformation, startup ecosystems, data-driven reporting,and artificial intelligence (AI)

Through expert-led sessions, participants were equipped with critical skills in technology reporting, research methodologies, fact-checking, multimedia storytelling, audience engagement, and responsible reporting on innovation and emerging technologies.

As Ghana’s technology ecosystem continues to expand rapidly, the need for specialized technology journalism has become increasingly important in shaping public understanding, policy conversations, investment visibility, and ecosystem growth. This initiative represents an important step toward developing a pipeline of skilled tech journalists capable of accurately reporting on Ghana's innovation economy.

Yesterday’s Shaping the Future of Tech Journalism workshop brought together emerging journalists to explore the evolving intersection of tech reporting in Ghana’s rapidly expanding tech ecosystem. The session focused on strengthening competencies in technology reporting, digital-first storytelling, audience engagement, media ethics, fact-checking, and covering complex innovation ecosystems including fintech, AI, cybersecurity, startups, and digital policy.

Special appreciation to our facilitators Michael Bruce, Ekow Quandzie, and Faiza Seidu Adam for delivering practical industry insights grounded in newsroom experience, strategic communications, and technology reporting.

The sessions provided participants with deeper understanding of investigative techniques, editorial workflows, multimedia storytelling, stakeholder engagement, and the importance of accurate, data-driven reporting within the technology sector.

As Ghana's digital economy continues to accelerate, building a pipeline of specialized technology journalists is critical to shaping informed public discourse, amplifying innovation, and improving visibility for startups and emerging technologies across the continent.

📌 Ekow Quandzie - Facilitator

Ekow Quandzie is a Communications Executive with 14 years of experience in Public Relations, Media, and Journalism.

He has built an outstanding career providing campaign-driven PR and marketing strategies for some of the world’s most respected brands, including Samsung, the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the UNDP, the World Economic Forum, Diageo, Awake Water, Kasapreko, and the Kosmos Innovation Centre, among others.

He is the Lead Curator of the World Public Relations Day Festival, a global series of events uniting PR professionals around a shared agenda, shaping a deeper understanding and utilization of Public Relations across the world.

He also serves as a PR and Media Enabler for top talents and thought leaders, such as Benny Bonsu, Chief Content Officer at the International Olympic Committee; Grammy-nominated music producer Nabeyin Panford; and Lawyer Bobby Banson.

Earlier in his career, he served as a Senior Journalist at Ghana Business News, where for four years he reported extensively on business, economics, finance, technology, and social development. His journalism took him across the globe, covering high-level events by the African Development Bank, the World Bank Group, the UN Economic Commission for Africa, and the US Government.

He is a two-time Guest Lecturer at the Ashesi Center for Entrepreneurship.

Currently, Ekow is the Head of Public Relations and Sustainability Lead at Global Media Alliance, the leading PR Agency in Ghana.

He is passionate about community, creative arts, and sustainability.

Campbell Comey Alogn is an 18-year-old Ghanaian creative writer, performing poet, and political science student at the University of Ghana. 📢 Empowering The Creative Economy: Neptune Technology & Kglfoundation roll out a Transformative Digital Workshop.

In a pivotal move to digitally empower Ghana's thriving creative industry, Neptune Technology with the support of KGL FOUNDATION, rolled out its ambitious initiative aimed at transforming how creatives operate, collaborate and succeed in the digital economy.

The inaugural 📑 workshop under the theme "Developing Digital Enhancement Platforms & Tools for Creative Arts Business" was attended by a selected group of young creatives 🪄

Participants engaged in a hands-on experience session of "Building Your Own Digital Toolkit" This presentation provided insights on how creatives can select, , and streamline digital tools to enhance efficiency, visibility, and profitability.

🧒 Attendees took center stage during an energetic pitch session, showcasing their diverse talents. The pitch session served as a diagnostic insight into the real-world challenges faces by creatives. Benjamin Graham spoke on "The Digital Landscape of Creatives" where he touched on a number of key points including the essence of Social Media.

More than just an event, the workshop served as a blueprint for co-creation as it demonstrated that when are to articulate their needs and engage with digital solutions hands-on, the outcomes are significantly more impactful and sustainable.

The key of this event signals a promising future for the project as it scales and continues to support Ghana's Creative Arts Sector. 💯
