YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN
Life is such that we all are temporary sojourners on planet earth. One day, we will all miss ourselves. C'est la vie!
We grow in a family.
We have friends and acquaintances.
We have our various groupings everywhere.
We feel good knowing we have people around to always talk to and run to for solace.
But time has shown clearly that, you're always on your own no matter what.
As an individual, you may have this pressure about settling down with someone. Society will torment you till they can't no more, just so you could have a companion. You will experience a whole lecture on the need to do this. There is cost and compromise in here. Yet, nothing bothers them but just settle! On that day in case you find someone, it's all merry-making, gift-giving, well-wishes etc. But one thing you need consider is that, after your wedding, everyone will be gone. All bills, problems etc on you. You will be alone and have to survive. See? So think carefully.
You may gather few after a while for a naming ceremony. Awashed with goodwill messages, a full house, gifts etc, one may be so excited. This too is temporary and after a day, you're on your own again.
You may have gotten the opportunity into a school, a programme, a job and so on through a person. You're excited and congratulatory messages flood your space. You may be taken there for introduction. All successes however, come from your effort. You fight to survive. Lone soldier!
You run into problems as you live. People naturally will sympathise with you on your plight. The pain is unbearable; you're told to give everything to God. It appears easy for the sympathisers to say. Yet, it's one who wears the shoe who knows where it pinches.
Here comes the most painful and devastating part: death.
The unwanted visitor who brings no joy almost all the time.
You're bereaved, tributes keep pouring from all and sundry.
Assitance to you and the family in every form will you see including having more company in your home.
A house is full and there's no need for a house maid, garden boy, messenger, cook, watchman etc. You're sorted! Burial day, funeral over.
Crowed disperses and final "please take heart" are the only words. You're helped to tidy up the whole house. The numbers dwindle by the day and soon and very soon you're on your own.
An empty house! A lonely person with thoughts of where all his or her people are.
They're all there just located elsewhwere too thinking where you're too. Everyone has his or her fair share.
Everyone has family, friends and acquaintances. We feel some security but the reality is that, you're on your own kid.
Just be wise!
You're always on your own. Dependency in toto, is treacherous. Trust without thought is inimicatious.
The war has many allies, but the fight is solitary!
