To combat deforestation, Brazil is deploying an army of AI-powered "gardeners" that are transforming the way forests are restored. These remarkable robots do more than just plant trees – they’re rebuilding entire ecosystems with intelligence and precision.
Machines like the “Forest.bot” can plant up to 1,800 native seedlings every hour, a job that would take human teams several days to finish. But it’s not just about speed. Using advanced AI, these robots analyse soil composition, moisture levels, and the landscape to choose the perfect native species for each exact spot, ensuring true biodiversity just as nature intended.
To help each tree thrive, the robots inject beneficial mycorrhizal fungi alongside the saplings, boosting root development and increasing survival rates. Every tree is also GPS-tagged for continuous long-term monitoring.
Powered by solar energy and built for rugged terrain, these AI gardeners are becoming a powerful weapon in the fight against climate change, working tirelessly to restore the lungs of our planet with accuracy, efficiency, and care.
