Driven by our mission to make wholesome foods available, accessible, and affordable, we partner with smallholder farmers to promote sustainable food production.

As part of preparations for a successful planting season and ultimately a successful harvest, we provide support to farmers through:

1. Input credit distribution
Farmers on our projects receive certified seeds and fertilisers ahead of the planting season.

2. Mechanisation support
We support farmers with land preparation services to ensure timely and efficient planting activities.

These interventions help reduce some of the financial constraints that limit farmers from engaging in farming activities at their desired scale.

We remain committed to empowering smallholder farmers while pursuing collaborations and partnerships that contribute to sustainable food production across Africa.

Access to finance and reliable markets has often held farmers in Savelugu back. Even after harvest, uncertainty remained.

In 2025, WamiAgro partnered with Sinapi Aba Savings & Loans to help change the narrative. By supporting soya beans farmers with the right inputs, timely support, and guaranteed market access, it turned effort into real value.

That season ended differently. Farmers harvested and sold with confidence.

This Worker's Day, WamiAgro celebrates all workers in the entire agricultural value chain.

While agriculture begins on the land, its impact is shaped by many hands and minds, with planning, innovation, coordination, and support all playing essential roles.

Today, we appreciate the collective effort that drives WamiAgro’s mission forward.

In 2020, limited access to timely funding and essential inputs put many rice farmers in the Asutsuare community at risk of missing the farming season, threatening livelihoods and food security.

WamiAgro’s targeted intervention supported 300 farmers under the SLLC‑A Cooperative with certified seeds, fertilisers, and mechanisation services. This support improved yields, reduced production costs, and established a sustainable rice production model sustained over multiple seasons.

Happy Earth Day🌍.

Today is a timely reminder of our shared responsibility to protect and sustain the planet.

At WamiAgro, we recognise that our impact is shaped by how we cultivate, steward and innovate within our agricultural systems.

On this day, we reaffirm our commitment to sustainable agriculture, responsible practices, and building a resilient future for generations to come.

Farmer engagement is central to how we effectively reach the smallholder farmers we seek to impact. By working closely with farmer groups and their leads, we are able to build trust, understand community needs, and deliver support at scale.

This spotlight takes us behind the scenes of farmer engagement, offering a day‑in‑the‑life look at Kassim Zakaria, WamiAgro’s Farmer Engagement Officer, and the work involved in supporting farmer groups on the ground.

Irrigation is the controlled application of water to support crop production, particularly in periods where rainfall is insufficient or unreliable.

In today’s agricultural landscape, dependence on rain-fed farming alone presents real limitations. With climate variability, irregular rainfall patterns, and prolonged dry seasons increasingly affecting farmers across Ghana, water management is no longer optional. It is essential.

Irrigation systems help to:
• Enable year-round cultivation across seasons
• Improve crop quality and overall plant performance
• Reduce exposure to climate and rainfall variability
• Support more predictable planning, harvesting, and market supply

Without adequate water, crop performance declines, often leading to reduced yields. Strategic irrigation allows farmers to stabilise production and optimise output.

Across both small-scale and commercial farming, exploring available irrigation schemes and water management solutions can significantly improve productivity andy long-term resilience.

In agriculture, access to water is not just supportive. It is decisive.

In the 2023 and 2024 farming seasons, WamiAgro leveraged on the sorghum grain to empower smallholder farmers through sustainable production.

As implementation partners of the IDH Grains for Growth Program, we collectively supported 1474 smallholder farmers in Nakpali, Northern Ghana, to diversify from traditional maize and soya into commercial sorghum production.

Farmers were introduced to PAC 501, an early‑maturing and drought‑tolerant sorghum variety suited to local climate conditions, helping reduce climate risk while improving productivity.

Farmers were connected to a guaranteed offtaker, Guinness Ghana, reducing post‑harvest losses and ensuring reliable market access.

This Easter season, we reflect on the themes of hope and renewal.

May this period inspire fresh strength, deeper gratitude, and a renewed sense of purpose in all that we do.

We join our Christian community, partners, and farmers across the country in celebrating the promise this season holds.

Happy Easter!
