Meta One is here and it’s time to pay up
If you’ve been in Meta Business Suite recently, you may have spotted Meta One. While basic versions of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp remain free for personal use, Meta is putting more professional features behind a subscription, with plans ranging from $14.99 to an eye-watering $499 a month per page.
So are these feature worth it? The $49.99 Advanced plan gives you scheduled Stories, links in organic posts and Reels, exportable analytics, deeper audience insights and team access. All useful tools, but here’s the catch: didn’t we used to just be able to do that for free?
And this is where the controversy lies. Are we paying for genuinely valuable new capabilities, or simply paying to retain functionality we’ve grown to rely on?
If Meta is a major part of your marketing strategy, the extra insights, time savings and ability to drive traffic from organic content could make the investment worthwhile. But if you’re being asked to pay for functionality you already had free of charge, it’s fair to question the value.
Our advice? Work out what will genuinely benefit your marketing, and whether it will pay for itself.
