As you’ve no doubt seen in the news, this amazing man and Legion d’honneur Ken Cooke, has written his own book - a wonderful account of his life recorded by his friends Amanda Stirk and Gill MacDonald.
We were absolutely thrilled to design, print and bind the book (with matching bookmark) in readiness for Ken’s 101st birthday and book launch. It was a very special project to work on and incredible to read the story and peruse all the photos whilst working on it.
We received this review: ‘Katey at Fulprint couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating with our request to print our book about York’s last remaining Normandy Veteran, Ken Cooke. She understood the brief immediately and though we gave her quite tight timescales, and changed things several times, she pulled out all the stops to ensure we could deliver the book to Ken for his 101st birthday. He was completely thrilled with it, as were we and we received amazing feedback at the launch.
Every person we dealt with at Fulprint was so helpful and we cannot recommend them highly enough.
We know exactly where to go should there be a follow-on book!’

It’s always a delight to litho print City Folk Magazine, so we thought we’d share what goes into it.

Every issue we print brings together the skills and experience of the whole Fulprint team. And as you’ll see, there’s plenty of care and precision involved.

So, what’s going on inside that big machine? Quite a lot, actually…

Each page is separated into four ink colours: cyan, magenta, yellow and black, with a printing plate for each. Rollers apply ink to the plates, while water helps keep it off the areas that shouldn’t print.
The image then passes from the plate onto a rubber blanket, which transfers it onto the paper.
The four colours combine to create the photographs, illustrations and text on the finished pages. Lining them up precisely is what keeps everything sharp.

Thank you to the City Folk team for trusting us with your beautiful magazine!

We ❤️ it when a client wants to see their print on the press!

We’re supporting the Festival and have had the privilege of printing their festival brochure.

We were also delighted when they paid us a visit to see it come to life on our 5 colour Litho Printing Press.

It’s an absolutely packed event, running from 1st-18th October 2026, across the city. Don’t miss it!
