This summer has marked a significant point for us; it’s the summer of weddings of our nearest & dearest; we also enjoyed summer in NZ whilst the UK experienced winter, so we feel like we’ve cheated a little; and because after living in those magical mountains, followed by a couple months in Sydney, Greece & Portugal, we always knew this summer was coming. All the excitement and planning. And, some resistance to it’s arrival - a feeling of, ‘can’t May just carry on for longer so that I have more time to be here/to finish this/see this/make this/plan this etc’.
That bittersweet feeling of being excited for what’s next but equally not wanting what’s next to come yet because it marks the end of something big. And equally, new beginnings.
It’s been a big year packed with travel, dream-come-true work opportunities, personal and professional growth, family celebrations, and new journeys and big decisions etc. A healthy blend of soaring highs and the inevitable lows and challenges that come with anything worth doing.
The last 12 months have abundantly overflowed with LIFE and we’ve been lucky enough to spend time with so many loved ones and forge meaningful and inspiring work connections. It’s been wild 🖤🤘
So, truth be told, we both experienced something like burn out when we arrived back in the UK. A feeling of heartbreak as we hit pause on certain parts of ourselves and (momentarily) say goodbye to our other homeland down under. There’s been the inevitable ‘come down’ after any big adventure(s). We truly filled our cups to the brim.
But, some other wells were running a little dry. We’ve both been craving our own ‘winter’ - a quiet time to reflect and dive deep into the creations and the work. You know the feeling?
Our soil was in need of nutrients, more tending to. We needed to take a moment to restore and recalibrate.
(We’re still working on this, of course. It’s a practise we’re trying to not be perfectionist about 😅)
We’re diving in to this next phase, which for us, is all about the deep deep creations…🌙
Wherever YOU are, I hope you can find the beauty in the highs and lows of your tides…🌗
Big love,
T & A x
