Hey, I’m Sophie (also known as Soph) 👋

I’ve never shared my journey on here before so, since this is where it all started, here’s a little intro post.

I’m a Yorkshire-based Website and Brand Designer, turning my clients’ visions into reality 🤩

From Dog Walkers, to Psychotherapists, Soft Play Areas, Holiday Cottages and everywhere in between - I’ve been lucky enough to work with some amazing clients since 2020.

A few facts about me…
🏃‍♀️ I love keeping fit- whether it’s the weekly Parkrun, a Zumba or Body Attack class
🌞 Along the same lines, I love a long walk or Summer bike ride
🌅 I’m an early riser
🎶 A fan of a variety of music artists from Shania Twain to Lady Gaga, One Direction and MIKA
🎃 Born in October
🏔️ Happy in the Austrian mountains
🧶 Three years later and I’m still a beginner knitter (but I’ve completed five jumpers)
🏠 I’m based near York
🦉 I’ve just reached a 1000 day streak on Duolingo, learning German

Over a year later and I’m finally getting around to sharing the refreshed brand identity for Words by Friya 🖋️

Friya is a freelance creative copywriter, working with brands from Eurostar, to Burt’s Bees, to Costa Coffee.

With an existing logo designed years ago and a lack of colour 🎨 scheme in place, Friya was ready for an update.

Friya’s logo encapsulates her career - with the i’s tittle subtly amended to incorporate a quill-like nib.
In contrast, in the Secondary Logo the tagline is placed to the right of the main logo graphic - separated by a line; This almost emulates a cursor (another nod to Friya’s copywriting services).

It was a joy to work together to rebrand Words by Friya 🤍

Featuring bold branding by faced.designs, it was such a joy to bring Sally’s visuals to life on her website.

Sally’s website not only conveys her marketing services (with individual landing pages for each), but also highlights her expertise ✨

Sometimes you just need another set of eyes on your design, to create the vision you had in mind ✨

Earlier this year I worked with John from Tree2Bar to give his website a refresh and improve the navigability.

Working towards a set launch date, I added elements such as accordions to make sections with lots of text less overwhelming - as well as static gallery sliders to display multiple images in one section 🍫

Text was split into multiple, digestible, sections and illustrations from the Tree2Bar branding 🌳 were also added as faded background elements, to add dimension and create differentiation between sections.

May Monthly Recap 🌊

May has such a varied month, bank holiday days out, fun in the sun (including a bike ride), with projects going on behind the scenes and I’m looking forward to continuing throughout June ☺️

🏃‍♀️ I’ve been loving going to run club every week and exploring new routes, training for the GNR in September.

New projects I’ve started this month include a branding project for a transformational coach, as well as a website design for a recruiter and continued designs for a specialised surgeon (I’ve just finished the first draft for the website design)👩🏼‍💻

🗺️ Out of office adventures have included visits to the seaside, bike rides, enjoying a Rudy’s pizza and many walks.

✏️ I’ve been getting ready to start a new website design project in June, as well as preparing for other projects coming up over the next few months.

Let’s take a look at ’s recently refreshed website 📷

I really enjoyed working with Jo-Anna across the end of last year and beginning of this year, to create the vision that Jo-Anna had in mind.

Jo-Anna already had a logo and an existing website, but we gave both of these a refresh 🌸 to create a brand identity and website visuals that would speak to the lovers and the moon-gazers.

Developing a new colour palette to embody Jo-Anna’s whimsical wedding photography, we added line-drawn illustrations within the logo (and throughout the site) to enhance the style.

The website now truly shows off Jo-Anna’s work, including a ‘Love Stories’ style blog to capture the individuality of each photoshoot ✨

Make your website hero section count by telling people exactly what you do ⭐️ (and giving them a call to action).
