Va**ng causes mutation and alien abductions!
You might be thinking WHAT?!! Well we have been bombarded with scaremongering headlines for some years now, but slowly and surely the truth is winning through. We prefer to use scientific research to ensure the safety and quality of what we put into our bodies and those of our customers, so it's time to leave the unfounded sensationalist headlines behind and look at the reality. Smokey Joe is committed to quality and safety, and those which we share totally, and their investment in technology and research is world renowned.
We receive regular enquiries regarding Diacetyl and whether it is in our flavourings. The simple answer is no, but there is a more detailed explanation below. For those who might be unaware, Diacetyl is used in the food industry to give a buttery type of flavour and is used in the production of microwave popcorn. Although it is approved for food use, it has been classified as not suitable for inhalation, along with Acetoin and Acetyl Propionyl which are substitutes.
We only stock flavourings that do not contain Diacetyl or related diketones.
Acetoin and Acetyl Propionyl are not chemicals we use in our recipes.
Smokey Joe flavourings do not contain sugars, protein, and genetically modified ingredients, animal ingredients of any kind, preservatives, sweeteners or colours. They are all gluten and peanut free. They do not contain nut extracts or proteins.
This is why our customers love Smokey Joe’s products; we are like a family with a shared vision and ethos for quality and safety, along with a passion for delivering the best customer experience we are able to.
