Something a little different having been asked for a transformer unit that will also double up as a Diode clipper and distortion colour box. Balanced 1/4" in/out with hard bypass, output attenuation control and a multi way diode clipper that is set for.. transformer only and a choice of Germanium, Schottkey, Silicon and Infra Red LED. This can distort and clip from a very low level with Germanium and Schottkey or higher with Silicon then LED. £350

As a transformer only box (diodes off) you get a nice clean transformer colour with around 5dB passive gain. The various diode selections once selected really crunch and clip the signals when using the Germanium and Schottkey options. This allows you to back off the inputs down to quite a low level which will still trigger the diodes in a more subtle way. Simply dial the levels to taste and use your interface/mixer for the make-up gain stage

£250 + shipping - I have another completed Marinair, Neve, Carnhill type transformer box. 600 ohm input with a 5dB gain boost into output attenuation controls. Hard bypass and earth lift with full Neutrik XLR balanced in/out. Very tidy little unit all tested out

Picked up a nice pair of large Neve/Marinair styled transformers. Possibly made by Carnhill. Huge high level hardware re-housed in this desktop case with full Neutrik XLR in/out, ground lift, hard bypass and output attenuation controls. I am looking at doing some more of these as they sound great
