The next generation of phishing scams has realised something terrifying:

Why fake trust… when you can abuse real trust instead?

This Facebook Business Manager email:
genuinely came from Facebook
passed security checks
looked completely legitimate

…and still might have been a scam.

Modern phishing is increasingly hiding inside real platforms like:
Meta
Microsoft 365
Google Drive
Dropbox

The platform is real... The intent might not be.

So… that rumour about me quitting IT to become a delivery driver…

It got me thinking.

Not about a career change (don’t worry)…
but about how quickly things spread, and more importantly, how easily they get believed.

Because it’s not just business rumours.

We see it every day in IT:
• Scam emails that look urgent
• Messages telling you to “act now”
• And those classic Facebook posts…
“Copy and paste this or Facebook will start charging you”

Different situation… same behaviour.

We hear something → we react → we pass it on
without stopping to ask:

“Does that actually sound right?”

That one question can be the difference between:
✔ Staying secure
❌ Or clicking something you shouldn’t

Right… so apparently there’s a rumour going around that I’m shutting down TLMartin Ltd and becoming a delivery driver 🤨

Which tells me one of two things…
Either it’s true…
Or I’m starting to scare a few competitors.

So naturally… I had to apply.

Unfortunately, I’ve now had an official response…

Safe to say… my delivery career is over before it even began.

Apparently I’m more valuable as a customer than an employee.
I’ll take that as a compliment.

So for now… I’ll stick to what I’m actually good at:
Keeping businesses secure, systems running, and things not falling apart behind the scenes.

And if you do hear any more rumours about me…At least make sure they’re entertaining ones.😂
