Volunteering in our communities makes a lasting difference
Today we are taking time to reflect on the impact our colleagues' volunteering days can have, revisiting our colleagues' visit to Glasgow Wood – a local social enterprise and charity creating meaningful opportunities for disadvantaged people across the area.
By rescuing valuable timber that would otherwise end up in landfill, their team of staff and volunteers transform reclaimed materials into high‑quality indoor and outdoor furniture, toys, and bespoke pieces – all while delivering social and environmental value. A powerful example of sustainability in action, rooted in community benefit.
What made the day especially memorable was hearing directly from those involved. Our colleagues shared what it meant to step away from their day-to-day roles and contribute their time and skills, while Glasgow Wood Managing Director Danielle Fletcher spoke passionately about Glasgow Wood’s mission and the people who make it possible.
At Idox, adding value to communities is a long-term commitment. Every employee is entitled to a volunteering day each year, whether individually or as part of a team, to support causes that matter locally.
