At Ice Expo, we spoke with our Irish channel partners, AISafetySolutions, to discuss the pressures currently shaping construction safety across Ireland.

One of the most prevalent challenges across the construction sector is educating people on the importance of on site safety. The Safety Shield system acts as a preventative measure, leading people to get Home Safely in the evenings.

Hear from Mary Paula Kennedy, as she discusses the differences she's personally seen since being involved with Safety Shield. Awareness on site is improving, and operator feedback has been great.

A big thank you to AISafetySolutions for the collaboration at this event, and for sharing their safety perspective.

At Safety Shield Global, we've spent over 15 years pioneering Human Form Recognition AI, developing one of the most advanced safety focused AI systems available for high risk industries.

Built and refined using millions of real world detections across environments including construction, rail, waste management, and agriculture, our HFR technology is designed to identify people in any scenario.

By analysing footage captured at the point of incursion, the system intelligently categorises interactions into low, medium, high, and critical risk events. This helps teams to prioritise the incidents that require immediate attention.

June marks National Safety Month in the USA, a 30 year initiative led by the National Safety Council to reduce preventable injuries and fatalities across workplaces, and communities.

In construction especially, this message couldn't be more critical. Construction remains one of the highest risk industries in the United States, and whilst progress continues to be made, the mission stays the same: ensuring every worker goes Home Safe at the end of every day.

Working alongside our partners at HSE Americas, Inc., we're committed to helping businesses improve visibility around people, plant, and workplace hazards. Through a combination of technology, training, and proactive safety measures, the industry can continue driving down incidents and creating safer environments for everyone on site.

The construction sector continues to face significant challenges around struck-by incidents, vehicle interactions, and workplace awareness, which is why it's important to maintain a strong safety culture, and invest in solutions that help prevent accidents before they occur.

The USA remains a key growth market for Safety Shield Global, and through our partnership with HSE Americas, Inc., we're committed to extending our reach and supporting more organisations in their journey towards safer workplaces.

This National Safety Month, let's continue the conversation, share best practices, and work together towards our main goal.

Every worker. Every day. Home Safe.

Following yesterday's launch of the 100 Years of Monarchy and Democracy commemorative book at Westminster Abbey, we're proud to share the documentary produced by SJH Group, showcasing the emotive story behind Safety Shield.

In this short documentary, our CEO Jonathan Guest reflects on the ethos that has driven Safety Shield from day one. Creating technology that helps to protect people, reduce risk, and to improve safety across dangerous industries.

Training Development and Familiarisation Manager Jimmy McGurty shows how our detection zones are designed to help operators identify potential hazards around moving plant. It's a practical example of how technology can be used to reduce risk, and help to protect those working in close proximity to machinery.

It features valuable contributions from industry organisations, including the Construction Equipment Association (CEA), CPA - Construction Plant-hire Association, and Sunbelt Rentals UK & Ireland, whose perspectives highlight the importance of collaboration in driving meaningful change across the sector.

We would like to thank Viki Bell, Matt Ross, Steve Mulholland, and SJH Group for bringing our story to life.

🎬 We'd love to hear your thoughts. Watch the documentary and let us know what safety innovation means to you.

Every second counts when it comes to safety. That's why we've embraced the power of edge computing and edge AI, bringing real time intelligence directly into the cab.

Unlike traditional cloud based systems, our unique onboard host setup allows data to be processed instantly at the source, delivering faster, smarter, and more reliable safety performance where it matters most.

By processing data directly at the edge, our systems eliminate unnecessary delays and ensure operators, supervisors, and businesses receive critical insights when they're needed.

This technology is intelligent, scalable safety designed for the future of high risk industries, helping organisations to improve response times, enhance operational efficiency, and keep people safer every day.

At the end of the day, nothing matters more than every worker going Home Safe.

We spoke with James Walton at Blackwood Plant Hire about what going Home Safe really means to them, and why it’s more than just a message. It’s a responsibility shared across every site.

Creating safer environments isn’t optional, it’s essential. Every worker deserves to return home to what matters most.

Every night across the UK, construction machines are left alone.

Today, the UK construction industry loses an estimated £800 million every year to theft of plant, tools, and equipment. A significant portion of that is heavy plant machinery. Only around 20-30% of stolen plant is ever recovered. But the problem has evolved.

In 2022, the UK construction industry lost access to rebated red diesel. Fuel costs surged, operating costs increased dramatically. Overnight, every parked machine became a more valuable target. Not just because of the machine itself, but because of the fuel, the components, and the resale value attached to it.

At Safety Shield, we believed there had to be a better approach. Because the real vulnerability begins the moment the machine powers down. That's why we created Sentry.

When the machine powers down, Sentry takes over.

Take a look at our website today to discover how our dual purpose Human Form Recognition can add protection to your fleet.

Our Human Form Recognition is now dual purpose 📢

Our clients asked for it, so we built it.

Watch this video from Simon Bailey to hear how Sentry provides around the clock protection, helping contractors monitor assets, deter theft, and gain full visibility over equipment when no one is on site.

Find out how Sentry can help protect your fleet, reduce risk, and keep your operations moving. Get in touch with our team to learn more.
