You can spend thousands on a meeting room camera and still get the positioning completely wrong. And remote participants will notice.

A camera mounted too high can make the room feel disconnected. Too far away, and everyone looks tiny. Too wide, and half the image is empty space.

Then there's the camera that keeps following someone walking past a glass wall. 👀

These aren't necessarily problems with the camera itself. They're often problems with how it's been positioned and configured.

The right setup depends on the room's size, layout, seating positions, lighting and how people use the space. For some rooms, a single video bar is enough. Others benefit from multiple cameras and more advanced framing.

A visit to the Yealink Customer Experience Centre in London for an update on the latest developments across the Yealink portfolio.

Alistair Maher, Head of Workplace Technology, takes us through some of the key updates, including the new AV ONE Pro AV solutions for more complex room environments, the MeetingBoard Pro’s Windows option, and how the wider ecosystem can support divisible room solutions.

We’ve also recently deployed a two-way divisible room using Yealink’s AV ONE hardware and ecosystem for an accountancy firm in central London, so it was useful to see how the latest developments build on solutions we’re already delivering for customers.

‘Before, we didn't really have a meeting room.’

That's how Ben Warwick, Finance Director & Company Secretary at Manitou in the UK , described the space before MVS got involved. It's a good reminder that great AV starts with understanding how a room is actually used, not just what's installed in it.

Manitou first came to MVS to fix an issue with their old system. The speed and flexibility of that support led Ben straight back to us when it came time to plan a bigger upgrade.

Good AV starts with understanding the problem.

Simon Tipping, Marketing Manager, joined Rob Gowman, AV Sales Consultant, on a recent site visit to a financial services company in Lombard Street.

The team is experiencing audio issues in a couple of meeting rooms, including significant background noise from air conditioning and acoustic challenges in an executive room.

Our next step is to work with our Pre-Sales team to assess the issues and develop recommendations that address the specific challenges in each space.

It’s why we put the time into visiting spaces, understanding how they’re being used and looking at the wider environment before specifying a solution.

We're hiring: Service Help Desk Engineer 📍 Basingstoke

MVS are looking for an experienced Service Help Desk Engineer to join our team.

This is a customer-facing role for someone with commercial AV help desk experience who enjoys fault-finding, takes ownership and knows how to deliver first class customer service.

What you'll be doing:

→ First point of contact for service customers, owning tickets and keeping them informed
→ Troubleshooting commercial AV and video-conferencing systems remotely, resolving where possible and escalating when needed
→ Onboarding new service customers and helping coordinate planned maintenance and engineer visits

What we're looking for:

→ 3+ years' help desk or technical support experience, including commercial AV support
→ Strong, logical fault-finding skills and a good understanding of commercial AV and video-conferencing systems
→ A confident communicator who takes ownership and cares about the customer experience

Experience with Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms and other common AV technologies would be a real advantage.

📍 Basingstoke based, with occasional travel
🚗 Full UK driving licence required
