Unfortunately we are closed for the day. Although its raining in Weymouth we are unable to make it in from Dorchester where the weather is a little more white and slippery. We did make it part of the way to work before the relief road was at a standstill. You can still call on 01305 785017 to discuss any issues. Due to a change in the nature of the business as well as the continued rise in costs we are updating our shop/showroom opening hours for the foreseeable future. We will continue to work Monday-Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, however the shop at 40 Park Street will only operate daily from 10am to 12pm. This will allow us to offer a continued level of service out in the field while still maintaining a physical presence for customers to be able to come and talk to us, seek advice or drop off equipment. Customers will still be able to speak to us outside of these hours by calling us on 01305785017 throughout our working day. If we are unable to answer your call in person at any time, then please leave a message with details and we will get back to you as soon as we possibly are able to. We have not taken this decision lightly but the most important thing for our business is being able to get out into the community and assist our customers as soon as is possible and we feel this is the best way for us to achieve that. We thank all of our customers over the last 90 years for their continued patronage and look forward to continue helping them for many years to come.

Coronavirus (Covid-19) Statement – Update 19/07/21 We are delighted to announce that in line with government guidance our premises in Park Street is fully back open and we are operating our usual opening times. Government guidelines have now removed all legal requirements for the wearing of face masks and the need for social distancing. However, due to the compact nature of our shop we still operate a 1 out, 1 in policy to ensure the safety of both staff and customers. We do also request that masks be worn upon entering the shop and we will still be wearing masks for the safety of both our staff and customers . We will still have sanitizer available in the shop and if you have forgotten a mask then please ask the staff and they will be able to provide you with one.

During the entire pandemic Touts have managed to provide a call out and repair service. Our customers are our most important asset and we have ensured good practice throughout to maximize the safety of staff and clients. We continue to monitor all guidance issued by the government and our engineers still operate social distancing as well as using masks on all call outs and PPE where required. On top of this our staff now undergo twice weekly Rapid reaction Covid tests to minimize any risk as much as possible.

If you have any concerns or special worries about a visit to your home by one of our engineers please call ahead and we will try to do whatever we can to alleviate any worries.

We are still unsure as to what will happen in the near to medium term and how long all of the regulations will fully affect all of us. While we are still unsure as to how the long term issues of Covid will effect everyone we are aware that a TV is an ongoing major source of company and information for all the most venerable people as well as others and some people really are going to struggle to do without should it go wrong. Here at Touts TV & Smart Home Centre we will continue to provide service to those in need in the coming months. We are going to extreme lengths to serve the South Dorset community as we have done for the last 87 years. Unless government advice forces us to shut down entirely , or we ourselves are forced to self isolate, we will still be providing essential service to anyone in need where possible. We feel there is a genuine risk to people’s mental wellbeing, levels of social loneliness as it is and the thought of being on your own without TV will be very scary and worrying for many. We are implementing steps to keep the safety of our staff and customers at the highest possible levels. These include the use of disposable protective equipment, masks, gloves, regular hand washing before and after visits in accordance with current recommended advice. We are talking to customers before visits to ensure a safe distance between parties is maintained. We are aware that guidelines are altering all the time and are keeping up to date with information provided by government. If you have any questions or issues regarding your TV, signals, or visual equipment, either for yourself or for a relative or friend that is in need, then please give us a call to see in what way we are able to help. As well as service call outs for problems, we can very quickly provide and install new equipment and try to get extra TV's installed in a bedroom or separate area where someone is required to self isolate within a property. WE ARE ABLE TO STILL ARRANGE FOR DROP OFF AND COLLECTION OF EQUIPMENT FOR REPAIR WITH OUR "ARRANGE AND DROP OFF" SOCIALY DISTANCED PROCEDURE (SAME AS CLICK AND COLLECT ONLY WITH AN ARRANGED PHONE CALL RATHER THAN CLICKING ONLINE).
