Brand reveal for Spooky’s Building & Electrical Services 👷‍♂️⚡

This project was a special one for me, as the client also happens to be my dad. Funny enough, the very first logo I ever designed at 15 was for his business… and it featured a literal ghost wearing a hard hat 👻😂 Safe to say we’ve both come a long way since then.

For the redesign, I wanted to move away from the obvious route and create something that felt modern, professional and built to last.

The final logo icon combines a geometric “S” shape within the structure of a house, inspired by architectural blueprints and technical drawings. The clean line work reflects both the building and electrical side of the business, while the structured design helps communicate reliability, precision and future-focused workmanship.

The blueprint-inspired style also ties into the idea of planning, craftsmanship and creating solid foundations, values that sit at the core of the company.

Really proud to have redesigned this over 15 years later ❤️

And genuinely, if anyone around Kent is looking for building or electrical work, give him a shout, he’s pretty good ⚡

Working with Carers First and Amazing Minds on the young carers animation is still one of the projects I’m most proud of. But it didn’t start behind a screen.

Before any design work began, I spent time with young carers, listening to their experiences through a series of workshops. We talked, drew, and explored what day to day life feels like for them. Those conversations shaped everything that followed.

The idea of the small robot with the battery came from trying to reflect how quickly their energy can run down when they are balancing so much on their own. It’s a part of the process I really value. Taking the time to understand the people behind the brief before creating anything.

I’ve shared a bit more about this and what I learned working on A Story for Young Carers in a new blog, which you can find on my website.
