As I was scrolling through Instagram, I found a channel talking about interesting websites. Every once in a while there are some decent videos to keep you entertained. I made a note of some of these and found that they are really good and very useful for all kinds of things, and may save some time or money. Below are the websites and what they are about. Enjoy!
www.opensourcealternative.to – A good website for free to use software that are as good, if not better, than some of the paid applications. Software like web design, photo and video editing and password managers are just a sample of the huge database they have.
www.wolframalpha.com – This site is great for specific questions, like good but aimed more towards maths, facts , every day life and much more. You can ask complex algebra equations, or compare tv shows and see statistics. Good for those tricky homework questions!
www.importyeti.com – Search for a company and find its suppliers! It will also tell you the relationships that company has with other companies and the product breakdown of all products that company sell. Interesting stuff looking into some of the larger businesses
www.unscreen.com – This is great for removing a background of a video, easily and free. Ideal for creating and editing videos and perfect for the beginner.
www.remove.bg – Following on from above, this site will remove the background from pictures with one click.
www.pixabay.com – Over 2.5 million free to use pictures for websites etc

These Usb charge meters are great for checking the power going to mobile devices, consoles or any USB powered gadgets. I always use them to check the power jack for the correct voltage so a correct diagnostic is carried out and only repairs that are needed are carried out, rather than charging for unneeded parts. 🔋🔌

I was checking an ipad to make sure the battery was charging correctly as the screen doesn't come on. I now know that the screen is faulty, but both the battery and the USB charge port is perfectly fine 🙂

It's not just pc's that I can fix, it's games consoles too. This Xbox one wouldn't boot up or stay powered on. From the pictures below you can see the process of giving this console a good clean up, a fresh drip of thermal paste, and upgraded the hard drive to 1tb and this Xbox is back to normal.

When circuit testing for a short circuit, it's a very delicate process as probing the wrong pins will result in sparks and a fried motherboard.

This particular motherboard I was diagnosing for a customer, had a faulty power jack port (highlighted).
