Behind every event is a team of people making hundreds of decisions that nobody ever sees.

I can’t wait to see PEAKEFEST 2026 come to life. 🦓

Yesterday was one of those behind-the-scenes days, joining Nicola and her team for a venue walkthrough. We met with the hotel events team and the AV team, talking through stage layouts, branding, creative ideas and all the finer details that will help make this year’s event an unforgettable experience.

Afterwards, I sat down with Nicola for a 1-1 to talk about my own business, my vision and where I’m heading next.

I’m incredibly grateful to once again be the Creative Director and Brand Designer for PEAKEFEST 2026. Being trusted for a second year to help bring Nicola’s vision to life is something I’ll never take for granted.

Do you remember having a pen friend? 💌

When I was a young girl, I met another girl while on holiday in Cornwall with my mum and dad.

She was from Sheffield, and when the holiday ended, we became pen friends. Although we lived miles apart, we wrote to each other for years and years through handwritten letters.

Every envelope told a story.
Every letter helped us get to know each other a little more.

It made me think…

Long before social media, websites and AI, we built connections through stories.

We shared where we were from, what we loved, what was happening in our lives and what we dreamed about.

That’s exactly what branding is.

People might notice your logo…

But it’s your story they’ll remember.

Over the last few weeks, something has shifted.

For years I’ve said I create brands.

But the more I work with incredible business owners, the more I realise… that’s not where it starts.

It starts with your story.

The late nights.
The setbacks.
The resilience.
The reason you started.
The people you’ve helped.
The moments that nearly made you give up.
And the reason you kept going.

Because that’s where your brand lives.

A logo doesn’t build trust.

A colour palette doesn’t create connection.

A beautiful website won’t tell people who you are.

Your story will.

I’ve realised I don’t just design brands.

I uncover them.

I ask the questions others don’t.
I discover the person behind the business.
I find the heart behind the brand.
Then I bring that story to life through creative direction, design, photography and every touchpoint of the business.

Every iconic brand starts with a story.

Maybe that’s why I feel so passionate about working with businesses that have battled through something.

Because I know what it’s like to rebuild your life while building a business.

It’s a question I ask a lot of business owners.

Because often the business has evolved, but the branding hasn’t.
