southernpcdoctor.co.uk Out with the slow, in with the Fast! This is a 4 year old lenovo laptop with a mechanical hard drive that was so slow. Now after an SSD upgrade costing £180 she is now lighting fast with another 5 plus years of life left in her..... Cheaper the a new laptop and saving the planet for a few more years.

Check this out from Channel 5, I watched it last evening and I can say there is information about how to avoid phone scams that even I didn't know about. I visit plenty of customers that have been hacked or been the victim of a phone scam. if you are suspicious that this may have happened to you then please do get in touch.

Just a word of warning if you have been thinking of upgrading to Windows 11 which has been set for release today. I have complied some information for you to consider before going ahead with any upgrade.

DON’T DO IT!!

As you may or may not no, I am away on holiday as for next Monday 11th Oct for a week so if you do the upgrade to Windows 11 and it doesn’t work out, then I cannot help for at least a week.

However, if you are curious about whether your device can be upgraded, then you could (but again don’t do it) download and run the compatibility checker found here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/windows-11 scroll to the bottom of the page and look for the “DOWNLOAD PC HEALTH CHECK APP” link.

Windows 10 has another 5 years of life left before she is end if life, so if your device is 4 or 5 years old then you have plenty of time left before considering a new device.
