Our little family ran business has grown so much over the past few years. We support customers nationwide and our ecommerce continues to grow with the support of consumers choosing to support the small business instead of the big corporations. We always try to do our absolute best for every customer regardless of what their issue is.

We comply fully with distance selling regulations (this has been verified by legal representatives of the Federation for Small Businesses) and give the customer exactly what they are entitled to when it comes to change of mind returns and faulty items, we have not been in business since the early 90's, we aren't valued at over $1,000,000,000,000 but yet we seem to be expected to foot the bill when customers decide after using a product they just don't like it or they have damaged the item and claim it's faulty.

We understand that some people would rather buy items from other retailers because they won't even check the item you are sending back and you will get a refund no matter what. Unfortunately we can't work that way, if a customer has damaged a product then the customer will be asked to pay for the repair and once the item has been repaired it will be returned to them.

We have been the subject of a chargeback over the last 3 months where the customer claimed the item was faulty but had actually been damaged by the customer. We paid to get that item back to us under the impression it was just faulty, no mention of any damage before arranging a collection. We asked the customer if they would be interested in a low cost repair from the manufacturer, the customer said no and threatened us with a chargeback. A week later and we had £530 taken from our account and held by the customers card provider whilst the investigation took place.

Today the chargeback was resolved in our favour and the funds are on their way back to us minus a dispute fee that we have to pay regardless, we will also likely get negative feedback due to the customer not getting their own way as we have had previously. We will now re-open a dialogue with this customer about their return and we will be offering them a refund minus our costs because they likely have already purchased another product to replace this one.

We are just trying to make a living and support a family, please help support small, independent businesses. It is time to stop giving money over to huge companies that will continue to thrive with a few less customers and support the ones that a few more customers makes all the difference.
