We’ve made the decision to close the shop tomorrow as some of our staff will be attending a Scouts award day, while unfortunately some of our team are also poorly.

⚠️ **A WARNING ABOUT “CLEANER” APPS ON ANDROID PHONES** ⚠️

Be careful with those apps that claim they will “clean”, “boost” or “speed up” your Android phone.

Some of these apps can become a real nuisance. They may ask for lots of permissions, appear over other apps, send constant notifications, change settings, or keep pushing you to click on adverts or pay for extra features.

And some can potentially be harmful or intrusive, especially if downloaded from an untrusted source.

📱 **Our advice:** before installing any cleaning or phone-boosting app, check what permissions it wants and whether you really need it. Android already has built-in tools for managing storage and removing unnecessary files.

If you already have a cleaner app that is constantly popping up, taking over your screen or making unwanted changes, it may be best to uninstall it.

🚨 Think twice before downloading these apps — “cleaning” your phone shouldn't mean giving an app control over your phone!

Stay safe and check those permissions before you click “Install”. 👍\

💻 A Quick Note About Buying & Trading In Devices 💻

Here at Wadebridge Computers, we often get asked if we buy or trade in laptops, PCs and other devices.

Unfortunately, we don’t purchase or trade in devices from customers. The main reason is that we wouldn’t be able to offer you what your device is genuinely worth.

When we take a used device in, we have to factor in the time and cost involved in refurbishing, testing, repairing where necessary, cleaning, reinstalling software and providing a warranty. By the time we cover all of these costs, the price we could offer you would be considerably lower than what you may be able to achieve selling it yourself.

We’d much rather be upfront with you and make sure you get a fair price for your device, rather than offer you less than it’s worth. 👍

If you're looking to sell an old device, we'd recommend trying:

🗣️ Word of mouth — friends, family or colleagues
📱 Facebook Marketplace
🛒 eBay
💷 Trade-in services such as CeX, if you'd prefer a quick and straightforward option

If you're unsure what your device is worth or need advice on what to do with an old laptop or PC, we're always happy to point you in the right direction. 😊

📣 A Friendly Reminder from Wadebridge Computers 💻

We’d like to remind all of our customers that we operate on a first come, first served basis.

Once your device is booked in, our technicians aim for a 24–48 hour turnaround wherever possible. Please note that this timeframe may be longer if:

* Parts need to be ordered.
* The repair is more complex than initially expected.
* Additional faults are discovered during diagnosis.

We understand that everyone wants their device back as quickly as possible, and we always do our very best to complete every repair promptly. However, we will not move newer jobs ahead of customers who have already been waiting.

Unfortunately, our team has received a significant amount of abuse this week from people demanding their repairs be prioritised. This is simply not fair to our staff or to the customers who booked in before them.

We kindly ask that everyone treats our team with patience, understanding, and respect. Our staff work incredibly hard to help every customer, and they deserve to be spoken to with courtesy.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support us and understands that quality repairs take time. We truly appreciate your patience and your custom. ❤️
