If you own a website or know someone who does, be careful of a new phishing attempt which seems to send an e-mail from what seems to be your domain host (someone who provides a .com for example).

I received the following e-mail which I thought came from my my domain host (email address is also spoofed so not a random address), I'd not used them for a couple of years but as payment is yearly it's easy to forget. It wasn't until I clicked on the link and realised that although similar, it did not look right.

The page asks you to log in, it will work regardless of what is entered, and takes you straight to a payment page, so it looks very legit!

Important Customer Notice:

First of all, please note that we are still operating during these difficult times.

A few things will change to protect ours and our customers health.

This means that call outs are currently suspended until further notice and guidance by the government.

We will not take any laptops bags in and ask that only laptops, towers and chargers are provided. These will be wiped down before and after with 99% isopropanal alcohol.

If collection is required, we ask that the the equipment is left on the porch (you will be contacted upon arrival), to excercise a no contact approach, we will do the same upon return.

The same will be asked when dropping off, we ask that it is left on the entrance where someone will collect.

We will also ask that payments are made by card (an invoice will be sent and a payment can be made) or bank transfer, rather than cash please.

We wish you all good health and hope that this will all be over soon.

This issue seems to be with the 15" MacBook Pros sold between September 2015 and February 2017. Apple will be replacing the batteries in these models free of charge.
