As you’ll already be aware, AI isn’t coming to design. It’s already here.

YOUR AUTHENTICITY IS HUMAN.

Architecture. Interiors. Product design. Visualisation. Web. Marketing. Content. CAD. 3D. Photography. Business.

AI is already changing how all of these industries work — and the pace is only going to increase.

But there’s something else happening too.

We’re starting to see a wider shift around general AI itself — how it works, how it connects into everyday business, how quickly it is improving, and how it may begin to influence areas that many people are not fully aware of yet.

That matters.

Because using the AI tools already available to you is one thing.

But the bigger question is:

ARE YOU AI AWARE across every aspect of your business?

Do you understand where AI can help?

Where it could save time?

Where it could reduce repetitive work?

Where it could support design, visualisation, marketing, websites, communication, admin, research, content and customer experience?

And just as importantly…

Do you understand where human judgement, experience, creativity and professional skill still matter most?

I don’t believe the answer is to panic.

And I definitely don’t believe the answer is to throw away the skills, systems and knowledge that already work.

The answer is to become AI AWARE.

Understand what is changing.

Understand what is useful.

Understand what is hype.

Understand what could genuinely improve your workflow.

And understand what may be coming next.

Because simply opening ChatGPT or pressing an “AI Generate” button isn’t an AI strategy.

That’s using AI.

Learning how to combine AI with your existing skills, workflows, experience, brand and creative thinking is something very different.

That is where I believe the real opportunity lies.

For designers, architects and creative professionals, the future isn’t about replacing everything we already know.

It’s about embracing the new while respecting what already works.

Can AI remove repetitive work?

Can it help us explore ideas faster?

Can it improve visualisation?

Can it support CAD and 3D workflows?

Can it strengthen our marketing?

Can it help us communicate our ideas?

Can it improve how our businesses operate?

Can it give us something incredibly valuable back?

Time.

And perhaps the biggest question of all:

How do we use all of this without losing the knowledge, creativity, personality and individuality that makes our work — and our businesses — ours?

That is why my own learning and coaching is evolving too.

I want to help people understand not simply which AI tool to click, but how 3D, digital design, AI and established professional workflows can work intelligently together.

From architecture and interiors to visualisation, websites, marketing, content and beyond.

Not AI for the sake of AI.

Better skills.
Smarter workflows.
Stronger businesses.
More creative freedom.
More awareness.
And more time back.

The world is changing.

We don’t need to be frightened of it.

But ignoring it probably isn’t a strategy either.

Get AI AWARE.
Evolve your skills.
Evolve your workflow.
Evolve your brand.

Keep what works.

Learn what’s next.

And make sure you remain the intelligence behind the technology.

If you’d like to have a further chat about where AI may affect your design work, workflow, brand or wider business, DM me.

We want to help you stay aware, ready and in tune with what’s changing — without losing sight of what already makes you good at what you do.

SketchUp is changing. AI is changing. Is your workflow changing with it?

On 16 September at 10:00am UK time, Trimble is hosting an official SketchUp webinar:

Elevating Architectural Workflows with the SketchUp Ecosystem and AI

The interesting part isn't simply another collection of new tools.

It's how the SketchUp ecosystem is becoming increasingly connected — from site context and early design through modelling, visualisation, documentation, collaboration and now AI.

The session will explore:

→ Site analysis through to detailed design
→ Better structured SketchUp models
→ Collaboration and client communication
→ Visualisation and technical documentation
→ Current SketchUp AI capabilities
→ A preview of AI tools currently in development

Register for the official webinar: https://bit.ly/4wtGuOv

But here's the question we'd encourage you to ask afterwards:

Is YOUR current workflow clean, consistent and commercially efficient?

Because knowing what SketchUp can do and actually applying it efficiently to your own projects are two very different things.

SEEIT3D has specialised in SketchUp sales and certified training for over 20 years, and our approach continues to evolve with the industry.

We're increasingly working with new, returning and experienced users through tailored training and coaching built around their actual projects, existing knowledge and workflow challenges.

Traditional off-the-shelf courses are no longer always enough.

Sometimes you don't need another course.

You need someone to look at how YOU work.

Thinking about improving your SketchUp skills, but still have a few questions?

You are not alone. Most architects and design professionals want to know exactly what they are committing to before booking training.

At SEEIT3D, our SketchUp training is practical, personal and built around the work you actually do.

✅ Training for both Windows and Mac
✅ Live feedback and instant answers
✅ Work on your own projects
✅ Flexible sessions rather than a rigid 40-hour course
✅ Lifetime email support after your training

Most professionals begin with two or three focused sessions and continue only until their goals have been achieved. No bloated course. No sitting through hours of material you already understand. Just relevant training designed around your workflow, experience and business needs.

SEEIT3D has been delivering professional SketchUp training since 2004, supporting architects, interior designers, landscape designers and other design professionals across Scotland, the UK and worldwide.

Working faster in SketchUp is not about clicking faster. It is about building a better workflow.

After more than 20 years of training designers, architects and businesses, I keep seeing the same thing: talented people losing hours because their models are not organised from the start.

Three habits make a huge difference:

✅ Tag your model before the project gets complicated

✅ Learn your shortcuts until they become second nature

✅ Build a reliable component library you can reuse again and again

These are not flashy tricks. They are solid professional habits that save time, reduce mistakes and make models easier to edit, render, present and share.

At SEEIT3D, we provide live SketchUp training for individuals, teams and businesses across Scotland and the UK, with recordings included.

Whether you are self-taught or formally trained, a focused workflow review can uncover gaps that may be slowing you down on every project.

Book a 1-to-1 session and let’s audit your process.

SketchUp Desktop 2026.2 is here — and I have to say, this update is actually useful.

Sometimes software updates feel like someone has simply moved the furniture around and called it interior design. Not this time.

SketchUp 2026.2 brings in some proper workflow improvements, especially if you work with architecture, interiors, landscapes, construction drawings, sunlight studies or client presentations.

The big one is the new Analysis Hub.

This gives designers a smarter way to study daylight and shadows directly inside SketchUp. That means better decisions earlier, clearer presentations and fewer “we should have checked that sooner” moments.

Some of the best improvements include:

✅ New Analysis Hub
✅ Advanced Shadows
✅ Daylight tools through SketchUp Labs
✅ Faster shadows
✅ Better LayOut performance
✅ Group Clipping Masks in LayOut
✅ Easier extension migration
✅ Improved Revit import
✅ Better Scan Essentials workflow

For professional users, this feels like a proper productivity update — not just a cosmetic refresh.

If you use SketchUp every day, especially for client work, drawings, planning, visuals or design development, this is worth looking at.

I’ve written a full breakdown on the SEEIT3D website explaining what’s new, why it matters and whether you should upgrade.

Have a read — and if you’re unsure what licence or upgrade route is right for you, message me and I’ll point you in the right direction.

Happy 4th of July to all my friends, clients, and creative connections in the USA 🇺🇸

Something very special is happening behind the scenes.

For the past 6 years, I have been involved in supporting an exciting national design proposal in the USA — a project built around civic pride, culture, technology, education, public space, and something I believe we need more than ever:

Unity:

Next week, this vision moves closer to a major milestone, with a submission to a city mayor now imminent.

I can’t share the full details yet, but I can say this:

I am here.
I am building.
I am creating for the future.

Not just for buildings.
Not just for visuals.
But for places that bring people together.

This is exactly why I believe designers, creatives, career changers, and design-led businesses need to stay up to date with modern 3D design, AI creativity, visualisation, and digital workflows.

The world is moving fast.
The tools are changing.
The opportunities are growing.
And the people who learn, connect, and adapt now will be the ones shaping what comes next.

That is why I created the **Design Your Future Guild** — a community for career changers, existing designers, architects, interior designers, landscape designers, creatives, makers, and visual thinkers who want to grow together, learn together, and stay ahead of the curve.

Inside the Guild, we explore design confidence, SketchUp, CAD, 3D workflows, AI creativity, visualisation, business thinking, and creative networking.

Or DM me **GUILD** and I’ll send you the link.

More soon.
The future is built before the world sees it.

⏳ **FALSE LIMITING BELIEF**

“I never have time.”

I hear this so often from architects, interior designers, creatives and people trying to build a better future in design.

And the truth is, the pressure is real.

Client deadlines.
Project revisions.
Emails.
Meetings.
Learning new software.
Trying to improve your portfolio.
Trying to grow your confidence.
Trying to keep up with a design industry that never seems to slow down.

When you are constantly reacting, it can feel as though there is no clear way forward.

But here is the belief I am trying to replace:

✨ **“I can never run out of now.”**

You may not have a free week.

You may not even have a free afternoon.

But you still have this moment.

One small improvement.
One new skill.
One sketch.
One lesson.
One better workflow.
One conversation.
One step towards the designer you want to become.

The danger is not being busy.

The real danger is allowing “busy” to become a permanent holding pattern.

You do not need to solve everything today.

But stop waiting for the perfect moment when the diary is empty, the phone stops ringing and every project suddenly becomes easy.

That moment may never arrive.

Start with what you have.

Start where you are.

Start **NOW**.

Because you can run out of hours in the working day.

But you can never run out of **NOW**.

🏛️ **Are you an architect, interior designer, creative professional or career changer looking to grow your skills, confidence and network?**

Join our free **Design Your Future Guild** Facebook community, where designers and creatives come together to learn, share ideas and move forward.
