One amplifier to rule them all under £4k.

The Hegel H190V is the replacement of the H190 integrated amplifier, adding a phono stage based upon their market leading V10, hence the "V".

The number convention surprised us as Hegel often moved in the 10s, and therefore, I was expecting the amplifier to be the H200, as with the H80/H90 and H590/H600 etc.

The good news is that the price barely moved, and with the phono stage, the H190V offers better value for money than the original, while also maintaining the same number of analogue and digital inputs, which shows they are indeed thinking smart.

Do investigate Hegel's best-selling amplifier worldwide, as it is capable of driving 99% of all loudspeakers available and close to the best performance obtainable.

It always sounds musical, pleasing, smooth, highly detailed, and in control, with a precise volume control and an overall feeling of a very high quality product.

One of my favourite songs of all time played on guitar.

I'm not even sure I would have bought a Linn/Naim system in 1983 if it wasn't for Dire Straits releasing the album Love over Gold in September 1982.

Their album Brothers in Arms was not my favourite tbh., apart from the songs "Your Latest Trick", "Why Worry?" and "Ride Across The River".

Never-the-less, the track "Brothers in Arms" is extraordinarily heart felt.
