A customer might soon ask an AI assistant to ring your business for them.

Google has said its AI will be able to call local businesses to check details or book appointments. It’s still early days and starting elsewhere, but the practical point is worth thinking about now.

If your website and Google Business Profile don’t clearly explain:

• What you do
• Where you work
• When you’re open
• How customers can contact you
• Whether appointments or enquiries are available

Then it’s difficult for anyone to get the right information, whether they’re a person or an AI assistant.

It’s worth checking that your services, locations, phone number, opening hours and contact details are consistent everywhere.

A clear, mobile-friendly website and an up-to-date Google profile make life easier for customers and help avoid confusion when someone is ready to get in touch.

A quick Google Business Profile check could save you an awkward conversation with a customer.

If your services section is blank, Google may try to fill in the gaps using information from your website, your reviews and what nearby businesses offer.

That means it could end up suggesting services you don’t actually provide.

It’s worth checking:

• Your services list
• Your business description
• Your website wording
• Any suggested updates from Google

This is a simple bit of local SEO housekeeping, but it’s easy to overlook. Especially if you haven’t reviewed your profile for a while.
