First M1 iMac in for repair. Dead as the proverbial Dodo.

3 hours of work to find a shorted capacitor* on the main logicboard.

iMac lives!!!!

*Magnification was required.

Nothing quite like an urgent data recovery for a student due course material submission very soon. A good result with 100% data recovered from an M2 MacBook Air that suffered... sprinkler... damage. No working display, keyboard or trackpad. Corroded USBC ports and a flat battery just to add to the difficulty!

There was a time when I looked forward to every new feature added to macOS. Could't wait to get my hands on the latest release.

Now... I spend my time finding out how to disable these 'features'. Is it an age thing? Am I alone in this?

Steps to resolve this issue...

1. Shut down, unplug and launch the thing out of the highest window in your house.

2. Replace it with a Mac.
