We have been waiting for parts to arrive since the damage caused by the first storm we had which was over 2 weeks ago.
Without notification these parts arrived yesterday so we took advantage of this and have now replaced our main switch which was destroyed by a lightning strike along with several other pieces of equipment.

As this was an emergency repair we completed the works without notification yesterday. We are aware that this would have affected all of our customers at some point during the installation procedure but we felt this was necessary as we were running on a temporary basis.

We expect the new equipment to take a few days to stabilise and we hope that we will be back to normal early next week.
We thank everyone for their patience throughout what has ben a very difficult time for Monsternet as a company due to the unprecedented situation we found ourselves in.

If you have reset your equipment please email us at [email protected] and we can arrange for an engineer to call as soon as we can arrange it. Please note that this will be charged to your account and it may be several days before we can get to you.

We have been working through several issues today that have been caused by last nights thunderstorm.

We have managed to identify and rectify several issues but are aware that a very small number of customers remain without a service this evening.
We have now stood down for today and will resume again tomorrow to identify the remaining issues with a view to resolving these as soon as we can.
We thank those without service for their understanding during which has been an unusual couple of weeks for us due to weather related damage.
If you have reset your equipment please email us at [email protected] and we can arrange for an engineer to call as soon as we can arrange it. Please note that this will be charged to your account and it may be several days before we can get to you.

We are currently awaiting the delivery of several spare parts to allow us to get on with rebuilding the Network after last weeks thunderstorm.

We are still running on a temporary set up at the moment and we are working to sustain that. Please be aware that until we are able to replace these parts that service in some areas may still be affected at times.

Once we have the required parts we will look to progress with the work as soon as possible and there may be slight further disruption at times until this work is fully completed.

We will continue to update our Web page and page.

If you have a loss of service please do not reset any part of your equipment as this will cause a loss of configuration settings which will require an engineer visit which could take several days.

In the first instance power off all of your equipment and leave it for 60 seconds then power it all back on again.

If you have reset your equipment please email us at [email protected] and we can arrange for an engineer to call as soon as we can arrange it. Please note that this will be charged to your account and it may be several days before we can get to you.

We have now been able to completely confirm all of the items that were damaged due to last Thursdays storm. Unfortunately we have lost some switching equipment as well as several radio access points and an amount of clabling.

We have however managed to implement our disaster recovery plan and as of this lunchtime all of our customers are now back online apart from a very small number in the Clunes area.

Currently for all customers this is a temporary fix until we are able to get the required parts and to then start to rebuild the damaged parts of the network. This will be completed in the coming weeks.

We would like to thank everyone for their patience and we understand the frustration that some people have expressed but this was a very unfortunate incident for all involved.

We would like to thank all staff involved in getting us to this stage as it has been a very hard few days for them all and their commitment has been exceptional.

We apologise to those still without service and ask that you remain patient until we can fully restore all of our network elements.

We have again spent all of today trying to recover more of the access points that were affected by Thursday nights storm.

We have managed to restore service to more customers but we now find ourselves at a point where we now need to have cabling tested and new hardware ordered and installed.

We will be proceeding with this in the coming days and hope to have everyone restored by mid week if possible.
This however will be temporary until we can have the new equipment delivered, configured and installed on site. Sadly the storm has caused severe damage and it will take us longer than we had originally hoped to completely resolve all the issues.

We apologise to those still without service and ask that you remain patient until we can fully restore all of our network elements.

We are aware of an issue with parts of our network that are currently down with no service. As of yet we are unsure of the exact cause of this outage but we suspect it to be a direct result of a lightning strike during the storm last night that saw over 9000 lightning strikes hit Scotland.

Unfortunately until we are able to fully asses the damage we are unable to give any sort of restoration time and we ask that you remain patient.

Lightning strikes can cause severe damage and we are currently trying to establish the amount of damage that has been caused.
We are checking all of our desktop systems at the moment and we will also have engineers on site this morning.

If you have a loss of service please do not reset any part of your equipment as this will cause a loss of configuration settings which will require an engineer visit which could take several days.

This Saturday into Sunday we are expecting storm Dave to pass through our area. It is forecast to very likely cause disruption and power is expected to be lost in some places with SSE already in Amber status.

If you find yourself without service please do not reset any part of your equipment as this will cause a loss of the configuration settings and this will require an engineer to visit to reconfigure it. This will be chargeable and it could take several days before we can get to you.

Unfortunately we cannot account for the weather or subsequent outages but when they occur we will always do our utmost to resolve them as quickly as we possibly can provided that it is safe for our team to do so.

Storm Bram has been forecast to arrive with us from around 1700 today and will remain with us overnight and into tomorrow. We are being told that we could easily see winds around 60 to 75 mph at ground level and as much as 100 mph over exposed hilltops.

SSE have put themselves on yellow alert for the whole of the North of Scotland for storm force winds.

Due to this, some disruption to the power network is likely and as such this may in turn affect both households and our own network. There may at times be a loss of your broadband service as is often the case when the power network is affected or damaged.

All parts of our network are currently operating as they should be.

If you find yourself without service please do not reset any part of your equipment as this will cause a loss of the configuration settings and this will require an engineer to visit to reconfigure it. This will be chargeable and it could take several days before we can get to you. In the first instance power off all of your equipment and leave it for 60 seconds then power it all back on again.
