Caroline Here: As promised here is my weekly accessories post:
This week I thought I would look at isolation platforms for your equipment so I picked out the Entreq Protectus which comes in 3 levels and in 3 sizes in each level so you will be able to buy the correct size for you. These provide a level vibratiion damping base and also provides grouding.

When Glen from Airt Audio first brought this down to us to demo your first thought is will this work and I will assure you that they do work and once you attach the grounding cable the Entreq grounding systems performs to a level that will surpise all.

Don't take my word for it come in and book a demo!

You will find these on our website in the Equipment/Isolation Support Category then click on Platforms for more info and prices.

Have a lovely weekend and I will be back next week with another accessory.

We had a very interesting demonstration on Tuesday for a gentlemen and his friend regarding just what systems would be suitable (or not) for someone with cochlea implants and who is also partially sighted.
The gentlemen only wanted streaming so we got to work with a couple of streaming integrated amplifiers and a standmount speaker for the gentlemen with the cochlea implants to see what we could do for him.
The gentlemen had a smile suddenly appear across his face when he realised he could get back to listening to music again. The obvious question did arise when he asked "what will I gain with a higher cost amplifier". Enter the MOON by Simaudio Moon Compass 371 Network/Amplifier and a pair of OePhi OePhi Lounge 2.0 speakers and guess what that smile just got a whole lot bigger!
He was bowled over with just what he was able to hear and to be honest it gave us a big buzz seeing that enjoyment on his face. Just goes to show we can all still be surprised from time to time and it is testament to both of these great brands that all of us can still enjoy music.
A REL Acoustics REL T5/x was added to underpin the music and of course the soundstage had a little more width again but customer decided T7/x would be ideal for him.
I think we went home with as much excitement as the gentlemen did.
He is now looking to soundproof a party wall so he can listen in earnest.
Well done to Moon by Simaudio, OePhi Acoustics and REL for adding so much more enjoyment to one mans life.

Caroline here: Had a tidy up of our Ex-Demonstration, Clearance and Previously Owned display in our showroom and it was nice to see that a few products have been sold through.

I have reduced a couple of items so if you wish to grab a bargain ie like the Moon 600i V1 has been reduced in price this morning, please take a look on our website in the Used Products and Clearance categories.

Caroline Here: Just thought I would start a weekly look at the accessories we sell to go with your hifi setup.

This week I thought I would start with the Audioquest JitterBug FMJ USB Noise Filter.

Place one JitterBug FMJ in-line (in-series) between any computer, smartphone, NAS, streamer, or car audio system and a USB input. For an additional improvement in audio performance, you can use a second JitterBug in another unoccupied USB port—that is, in parallel to the first.

Now I am not technically minded so I can’t say how this works but it does, I have heard this for myself and from customers who have brought one then come back to get a second. And at the price of £59.00 this really is a low cost upgrade that works.

Please visit our website and select Accessories > Upgrades for more information and if wish you can buy one or two.

We had a phone call from a very happy customer who purchased a Moon Compass 491 Preamplifier/Network player yesterday. He was not interested in streaming at all but we managed to convince him to give it a go and he cannot heap enough praise on streaming now! he also connected his MC cartridge up to the phono input even though he was using a high quality external phono stage and has decided to leave his turntable connected to the excellent MM/MC input as well as his Moon 260D. His last passing words to me "I am one very happy bunny now". High praise indeed for this wonderful preamplifier/network player.
Of course you could add the exceptional sounding Moon 461 for even greater satisfaction.

Caroline Here: I have hardly seen my husband today only when he was hungry and thirsty. I could hear music and him singing along to certain tracks so I sneaked up to demo room to see what he was doing. 😀

I think I can say he is enjoying listening to the J.Sikora Turntables Aspire turntable that Glen from Airt Audio left us to try. Now I am wondering if he will be coming home with me when we close but I am not sure 😂 🥰 He is happy that's what matters.

Glen from brought the .sikora.turntables Aspire turntable to us on Wednesday to audtion. Airt Audio have been so impressed by the brand they felt we just had to hear it. Well we are glad they did so as the Aspire turntable with Aspire tone arm performed well above expectations. Sound had a solid foundation and was detailed and articulate but had a very natural sound. It should sound solid as it weighes 21kg!
Absolutely bowled over with performance of this turntable and we will be sure to order a demonstration unit for the showroom.
If you would like to hear why we are so impressed Glen has left his Aspire with us for a while so feel to arrange a demomstration or call in to discuss the brand please do so.
Glen also introduced us to another exciting brand which is the excellent sounding Aidas MC cartridges which use some pretty exotic materials on the cartridges.
