Earlier in the year, we began adding the L-Acoustics LA7.16 amplifiers to our inventory, both as a means of providing amplification for our existing K and X Series loudspeakers, but also to prepare for future divergence towards L Series cabinets.
As a brief recap for anyone unfamiliar with the touring variant of this product, it's a 16-channel processed amplifier, fed predominantly via AVB on RJ45 connectors, with all loudspeaker outputs presented on a single 37-pin circular multipin connector, of which 32 pins are used for loudspeaker circuits.
Whilst this is an ideal means of connection to a single L Series cabinet, it does pose a small challenge when utilising the amplifier with other L-Acoustics loudspeakers.
There are, of course, a number of breakout boxes available from specialist suppliers, as well as L-Acoustics' own offering, the creatively titled BOB32. However, for our particular use case, which required a rack-mountable solution, it didn't quite tick all our boxes.
We would therefore very much like to introduce you to our own Arc Sound LA716BOB Mk1R (also creatively titled!).
Like all our loudspeaker cabling and interconnection hardware, these have been lovingly hand-built in our own workshop, and costing less in parts than a crew Sunday lunch shout at the Toby Carvery.
Et voilĂ !
