This month, Barnaby, alongside the brilliant Alex Blanco, our Head of IT, led an exceptional Lunch and Learn session on AI, Machine Learning & Automation. Combining their 35+ years of expertise, the duo shared valuable insights on leveraging these technologies to enhance creativity, boost productivity, and navigate the evolving landscape. With over half of our employees in attendance, the message was clear: we’re ushering in a new era of AI that’s reshaping our relationship with technology. Exciting times ahead! 🚀🤖

On Monday, 16th October, several of Cornerstone's key leaders joined Tim Bilton from Clarity Leadership in an interactive workshop to equip them with theoretical and practical ways to instil Values-based leadership into their teams and across the organisation. They explored ways to continue to create and foster a culture that allows our people to find meaning in what they do. As well as having the time and space to explore their personal values, our leaders worked collaboratively to draw links between their values and purpose and how to connect their roles to their purpose. Thanks to all who attended and made this a great session! 👏 🙌 💡

We celebrated World Mental Health Day this week at Cornerstone by hosting a drop-in session with our Mental Health First Aiders. We want everyone to know what to do when they’re concerned about their own mental health or that of someone else, which is why we have 10 qualified Mental Health First Aiders within our organisation to offer a workplace support system for those who need it. We believe that looking after one another today builds resilience for our future.

🚀 Launch of Cornerstone Management Programme.

We were excited to kick off our Management pathway programme this week with 8 of our colleagues, providing management training and skills as part of our wider learning and development for our

Partnering with Fuel Learning, a specialist leadership and management provider, the 13-month programme will culminate in a nationally recognised qualification designed to develop individuals into effective team leaders by providing a comprehensive understanding of leadership principles and practical skills.

We were delighted to be invited to Mobile UK's Summer Parliamentary Reception in the House of Commons yesterday. At the event, MobileUK launched their new campaign, – an awareness campaign designed to show how richer and more fulfilled our lives are by being connected through mobile networks.

Our CEO, Pat Coxen and Director of Property Estates & General Counsel, Belinda Fawcett, attended the event and welcomed the opportunity to hear Sir John Whittingdale, Minister for Data and Digital Infrastructure, reinforce the Government’s commitment to the rollout of digital infrastructure to support the Government’s ambitions for digital connectivity across the UK. It was positive to hear the focus on understanding how infrastructure is critical to enabling our communities to stay connected.

Construction Design Management (CDM) Regulations Training.

We were delighted to host our CDM training last week in Manchester. The training was specifically aimed at how Cornerstone performs its duties as the Client under the Construction Design Management Regulations.

A big thank you to Alex from Pro Safety Management and Matt from Osborne Clarke for presenting at our training and helping us to increase our CDM Regulation knowledge.

We’re pleased to share with you that 5,000 of our sites are now upgraded to LOCKEN smart locks. They are transforming the way we secure and manage access to our estate. Each lock provides data on every visit made to an individual site, giving increased assurance to our site providers and customers.

The excellent progress we are making in upgrading all of our eligible sites demonstrates the great collaboration between Cornerstone, Locken and our delivery partner, Mitie.

There’s nothing more that Health & Safety people love than pieces of legislation! So, imagine our shock when we heard that the Government was planning to revoke over 52 pieces of Health and Safety legislation. It was enough for Lindsey Roberts and Kevin Wright from our Health, Safety, Quality and Environment (HSQE) team to don their finest, head to Parliament and have their say at an All Party Parliament Group meeting! Denis Coakley, Cornerstone's COO, said: "Freshwave is a trusted partner and have made great progress in this pilot, so we're pleased to welcome the first mobile network operators to the network and pilot with them. We're excited about the future progress and the benefits it will bring in our long-term partnership with the City of London Corporation."

EE mobile users in the City of London can now enjoy enhanced 4G and 5G coverage along Queen Victoria Street thanks to an innovative connectivity pilot led by Freshwave.

Having stronger connections is one of our company values that we recognise among the Cornerstone Family and in the wider community.

Last week we celebrated both. Our monthly Spotlight Awards went to our cross functional team, who launched our new Learning Management System, giving all our employees instant access to all our learning in one place. Well done to Rhianna Mcdonald, Nikki Dance, Victoria Michitiuc, Natasha Levens and Alex Tye! Our individual award went to Gordon Asquith for organising five charity golf days throughout the year, raising over £1,000 for our nominated charity, Ronald McDonald House Charities UK. Thank you Gordon!

To top it all, we were delighted to welcome Caroline Sinclair, a fundraiser from Ronald McDonald House Charities. Caroline shared how the charity provides incredible support to families with seriously ill children in hospital through their free "home away from home" accommodation. It was very powerful to hear, and we were so pleased to present a virtual cheque for all of the Cornerstone fundraising activities, which now stands at £7,523.75!

Continuous improvement is important to us. Every year, we conduct a survey to listen to our landlords and give them an opportunity to feedback to us so we can improve our service. Our landlord pledge is our commitment to always be respectful, professional, courteous, trustworthy and ready to talk when engaging with our landlords. Our survey results gave us a snapshot of how we are fulfilling our commitment, and we wanted to share this with you.
