The best home cinemas don’t start with the projector. They start with the planning.

For this recent Kent cinema project, our involvement began long before the cinema itself was installed.

Having been introduced to the homeowner by the property developer, we initially designed the first fix cabling infrastructure and produced a detailed wiring schematic during construction. This meant the essential cabling was already in place when the client later decided to create a dedicated cinema room, avoiding unnecessary disruption to the finished property.

The result is a high performance 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos cinema, featuring:

• Miller & Kreisel speakers and dual subwoofers
• Anthem AVR processing
• Epson 4K projection
• Automated Lutron blackout shades
• Control4 integration

From the projector and audio to the lighting and shades, everything is brought together through Control4 and operated from one simple remote.

It’s a perfect example of why we encourage clients, developers and designers to involve us as early as possible. Even if the technology isn’t being installed straight away, the right infrastructure today can open up far more possibilities tomorrow.

Meet Alex Jones, Director and a familiar face behind Potters’ continued evolution.

Alex’s story with Potters began in the retail shop on Tenterden High Street, where he worked as a Saturday Boy at just 14 years old. After university, he returned to the business and immersed himself in the ever-changing world of home technology, before being appointed Managing Director in 2013.

Today, Alex leads the business while remaining closely involved in the design and product selection behind our projects.

Working alongside developers, architects, interior designers and homeowners, his extensive industry and product knowledge helps turn ideas into considered technology solutions for both residential and commercial spaces.

It’s this collaborative approach that sits at the heart of our role as a technology partner. We’re not simply here to supply products. We work alongside the people behind a project to understand the space, the design intent and how it needs to function, before finding the technology to bring it all together.

And after growing with Potters from the age of 14, it’s fair to say Alex knows the business inside and out.
