Your future duties and responsibilities
This role will see you work within the software development area of the Horizontal Delivery Centre that delivers into a diverse of programmes of work for our private and public sector clients.

Job Summary
As a Python Developer at this technology driven, scale-up OTC Derivatives trading company you will prototype and develop new features and enhancements to the core trading platform with a focus on improving backend infrastructures, optimising platform performance and ensuring scalability.
You’ll get to see your work go live rapidly from idea to prototype to build and release, allowing you to make a real difference and advance your career in a supportive, intellectual environment.

Requirements:
• Degree educated or above gained in Computer Science or similar technical / scientific / numerate discipline
• Commercial Python development skills (NumPy and Pandas nice to have but not essential)
• Good understanding of SQL and Data Modelling techniques
• Familiar with Distributed Systems
• Logical mindset with a passion for problem solving
• Collaborative, keen to learn and share knowledge with others

As a software developer with us you will undertake development activities in TDD, BDD and Scrum or other Agile practices. You will be responsible for coding, building, testing and maintenance of software systems and subject to experience coaching other more junior developers.

• Design and develop software in line with quality standards

• Produce and execute unit tests

• Identify and fix bugs in software

• Independently solve problems

• Describe, in written & verbal form, the root cause of issues

• Adhere to change control procedures and processes

• Provide trusted work package estimates

• Involved throughout the software development lifecycle

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

C # will ideally be your strongest asset, with experience of a mixture of additional languages and technologies an important requirement of the role.

You will have ability with a combination of some of the following technologies:

• Microsoft Language Understanding (LUIS) -- Mandatory*

• Agile
