As we exit the pandemic and enter a new world of flexible working, employee experience has been cited as a big opportunity to help businesses return stronger. At the heart of this change is technology which has enabled a new working dynamic but has fundamentally changed employee experience.

We at Talkout want to know how organisations are really going about implementing employee experience - what’s involved in the average programme? What initiatives are delivering measurable results? And how does your organisation match up to leaders achieving such outstanding results?

We’d appreciate it if you could give just a couple of minutes to take our short survey about how you implement employee experience strategies in your workplace. All answers will be anonymous, and the findings will be shared with participants in a comprehensive report released later in the year.

As part of the Martin James Network we believe in creating for all. That's why we will be joining the social media boycott this weekend.

We stand firmly alongside those working in sport and sports organisations, united in our calls to end hatred online. Because only by working together can we put an end to racism.

Our studio manager Jason is talking at Birmingham Tech Week today.

His session is all about the uses of VR across industries - how Virtual Reality technology is revolutionising training and how can it help training in a post COVID world.

From emergency services like UK police forces to Train Operating Companies, manufacturers to educational establishments, everyone is now assessing virtual reality as a method to make their training content more immersive and interesting. It offers the potential to drop a learner into a safe and secure scenario to gain important and crucial skills at their own pace for little cost overall. Now with COVID impacting classrooms, teaching methods and access to training, how can the virtual world be used to give this knowledge and ensure that skill levels can continue to be developed across all industries.

During this session you will learn:

How is VR being used across different industries?

What are the benefits of VR technologies for learning?

How will VR help training in a post-COVID training environment?

Here’s a preview of the 360 tour that we have developed for University of Wolverhampton for the Pico VR headset , which will allow prospective learners, clients and investors to experience a tour of their campus from literally anywhere.

The Pico VR headsets are wireless and have the software installed directly on to them, enabling them to work network and hassle free. They come in a fully powered, armoured, transport case that provides individual charging docks for each headset to simultaneously charge and can also be branded with your company logo.

With educational establishments having to consider new safety measures due to COVID-19, VR is the perfect solution. This could be implemented in all sorts of scenarios and environments where a physical visit is no longer possible.

Our programming team are constantly working to further improve the functionality and realism of C.O.P.S (Computer Operated Police Simulator).

What you can see here is a work in progress build of our Stop and Search training scenario that uses a physics based collision systems for the user's VR body presence to interact with the searched character. Haptic feedback on the user's controllers let them know if something is hidden under where they are searching. The scenario features randomised and fully customisable searchable persons, vehicles and found items.

Experience immersive realistic virtual workplaces within health and safety training scenarios in a CAVE (Computer Assisted Virtual Environment) and VR.

Health and Safety training in VR enables users to experience a whole range of different environments and the associated potential risks before entering the environment in real life.

It is often dangerous or impossible to show a new employee or learner the real workplace hazards but by using virtual environments it is possible to help them identify the risks visually and make them aware of the steps to take to keep their work environment safe.
