Q, With AI becoming standard, how is Arcstream using tech to make experiences feel more human and emotional, rather than robotic?

A, The belief that AI is standard in every activation is a myth, AI can support us in the process and can design certain elements if needed, but the reality is AI has capacities and budget levels, and for many of the clients we are working with, the budget doesn't fit the full use of AI and thats OK, we just need to work out the balance and how they think they want to us.

Q, Projection mapping has gone from a 'wow' factor to a standard tool. How are you taking mapping to the next level in 2026 to make it truly interactive

Projection has come along way since we got into this game, but ultimately, it's the right product for the right occassion and then linked with the right content. How you make it interactive is the cool stuff that goes on in the background, the sensors you use to add touch, the surfaces or animations you project onto or over, or on the grander scale, the buildings you project on to.

It becomes the stroy of the items that you can't see, and how they work in the background for you to add that layer.

We don't want to give all our secrets away, but whether you are Heathrow or Battersea, the interaction with the tech comes from how you want someone to experience it, so I suppose when you ask us how we are taking it to the next level, this all depends on the creativity of the brief we are given.

Pixel Pitch

One of the most important factors in any LED display.

Pixel pitch refers to the distance between the centre of one LED pixel and the next, usually measured in millimetres.

The smaller the pixel pitch, the closer the pixels are together, which means:
• Higher resolution
• Sharper images
• Better viewing at closer distances

Displays with a larger pixel pitch work well for big outdoor screens viewed from further away, while smaller pixel pitch displays are perfect for close-up environments like exhibitions, retail, and immersive experiences.

In simple terms: Pixel pitch helps determine how clear and detailed a screen will look.

We use a lot of tech terms when talking to clients, and sometimes they can sound a little… industry-heavy.

So we thought we’d start breaking a few of them down.

A new mini-series where we explain some of the words we use every day when designing immersive and interactive experiences.

First up: Gamification.

Gamification is the use of game-style elements, like points, challenges, leaderboards and rewards, in non-game environments to encourage participation and engagement.

From brand activations to fan zones and exhibitions, it’s a powerful way to turn audiences from spectators into players.

Because when people play, they engage. 🎮
